Know any kids interested in learning chess? The Wendell Chess Club is offering a free introductory beginner lesson for students ages 8–17. And if you're an adult looking for a place to play, the club meets every Tuesday night at The Bee and welcomes players of all skill levels.
Wendell Chess Club is excited to offer our FREE Introductory Absolute Beginner Chess Lesson Session for students ages 8–17!

This class is perfect for students who have little to no experience playing chess. We'll cover:
♟️ Chessboard setup
♟️ How the pieces move
♟️ Check and checkmate
♟️ Basic opening principles
♟️ Fundamental chess strategy
♟️ How to play a complete game
Chess is a great way for students to build critical thinking, problem-solving skills, concentration, and confidence while having fun.
🎟️ Registration is FREE, but space is limited to 30 students. Advance registration through Eventbrite is required.

👨👩👧👦 Students under 16 must be signed in by a parent or guardian. Students should arrive by 9:45 AM for check-in and be picked up by 2:30 PM.
