Celebrating 6 Years of BISHOP'S SWEETS & CATERING LLC!

Six Years of Sweet Memories, Community, and Gratitude!

As I continue celebrating the sixth anniversary of BISHOP'S SWEETS, I find myself reflecting on something far greater than the cakes baked, the meals prepared, or the events catered.

It's the community that has stood behind BISHOP'S SWEETS, provided encouragement, and made so much of this six-year journey possible.

Over these past six years, God has graciously opened doors and provided opportunities for BISHOP'S SWEETS to extend its reach beyond the walls of a business and become part of something much greater.

But one thing I never want to overlook is this: Whatever I've been blessed to do for the community has been made possible, in large part, because of the very community I've been privileged to serve.

The strength, generosity, compassion, and willingness of people to come together have been the backbone of so much that has been accomplished. For that, I am eternally grateful.

My vision for BISHOP'S SWEETS has never been simply to operate a brick-and-mortar business. From the beginning, my desire has been to establish something that extends beyond a physical location. A business that is not only present in the community but actively invested in its well-being, standing alongside neighbors, supporting those in need, and contributing wherever an opportunity presents itself.

Because being part of a community means more than conducting business within it. It means caring about the people who make that community what it is.

As I look back through these photographs, I don't simply see moments of service. I see the power of people coming together, relationships being strengthened, compassion being demonstrated, and God's faithfulness being revealed through the kindness and generosity of others.

These memories are not intended to highlight personal accomplishments or seek recognition. Instead, they serve as a beautiful reminder of what can happen when people unite with a shared commitment to making their community stronger.

To every individual, family, organization, volunteer, customer, and supporter who has contributed to this journey, please know how deeply grateful I am. Your generosity, encouragement, and willingness to help have made a difference far beyond what words could adequately express.

My prayer moving forward remains simple:

Lord, continue to bless me with the resources, relationships, and opportunities to be a blessing to others. And never allow the pursuit of building a successful business to overshadow the greater responsibility of helping build a stronger community.

Six years later, I remain humbled, grateful, and committed to serving beyond the four walls.

Because BISHOP'S SWEETS may be located in West Allis, but its heart for community has no boundaries.

I'm excited to announce that Bishop's Sweets & Catering LLC is partnering with two wonderful West Allis businesses, Story Keepers Books and TOP'Z Barber Studio, to make donating to this year's Community Turkey Drive even more convenient!

Thanks to their generosity, we're offering additional drop-off locations for NONPERISHABLE Thanksgiving food donations ONLY! Starting November 1st....

THE DAY WE EXPERIENCED “THE BRIAN EFFECT!” 😂

As we continue celebrating six years in business, today I'm taking you back to April 12, 2022, when Bishop’s Sweets had the wonderful opportunity to be featured LIVE on FOX6-WITI Milwaukee with the one and only Brian Kramp!

Now, anybody who knows Brain knows that he's a character! 😂 I was already nervous about appearing on live television, but between Brian's humor and the kindness of his photojournalist, they made the entire experience enjoyable. They helped calm my nerves, and before I knew it, we were laughing and having a wonderful time.

But let me tell you about THE BRIAN EFFECT!

We hadn't even finished the live broadcast before customers started showing up! In fact, a line had already formed outside the business, and I ended up opening my doors EARLY just to accommodate everyone!

I'm talking about people coming through the doors one after another! That steady flow of customers continued for approximately an hour until EVERYTHING WAS SOLD OUT! Pies, cakes, desserts, EVERYTHING! 😂

Now, imagine that! I opened EARLY because of Brian and had to CLOSE EARLY because of Brian! 🤣🤣

And let's not forget Brian's relationship with my bourbon bread pudding!

Now, Brian was supposed to be there interviewing ME about the business, but apparently that bourbon bread pudding had other plans! 😂 I still laugh remembering the crew back at the station trying to interview him while he had a mouthful of bread pudding! Brian was trying to talk, chew, and enjoy his dessert all at the same time!

I guess when the bread pudding is that good, even live television has to wait! 🤣

All jokes aside, I want to express my sincere appreciation to Brian Kramp and the FOX6 News team for that amazing opportunity.

Brian, I don't know if you fully realize the impact that your visit had on Bishop’s Sweets. That morning wasn't just another television appearance for me. It was an opportunity for a small, locally owned business to receive exposure that money simply couldn't buy.

And what makes it even more special is that here we are, four and a half years later, and I STILL have people stop me while I'm out and about to tell me they remember seeing Bishop’s Sweets on FOX6 News!

That speaks volumes about the impact of your work and the difference you make for small businesses throughout our community.

Brian, thank you for using your platform to shine a light on Bishop’s Sweets. Thank you for the laughter, the encouragement, and for helping create a memory that I will cherish for years to come. I also appreciated you taking the time afterward to publicly congratulate us on our success.

You didn't just visit Bishop’s Sweets that morning. You helped introduce us to an entirely new audience, and for that, I will always be grateful.

Now, Brian, if you're reading this, just know that I haven't forgotten about you and that bourbon bread pudding! 😂 Next time, we're going to make sure you finish chewing BEFORE the station starts asking questions! 🤣

🎉 SIX YEARS IN BUSINESS, AND FOR THE FIRST TIME, WE MADE THE BALLOT! 🎉

I am genuinely excited and extremely grateful to share that Bishop's Sweets & Catering LLC has officially made the final ballot for the Shepherd Express Best of Milwaukee 2026 awards! 🙌🏽❤️

What makes this so special is that, in six years of business, this is my very first time making the ballot! And my business name name didn't just appear there. Enough people in the community had to take the time to nominate BISHOP'S SWEETS for it to even reach this point!

When I think about that, I am truly humbled. To everyone who nominated BISHOP'S SWEETS, THANK YOU! Knowing that people thought enough of my business to recognize it in this way means more than you know.

I've been receiving messages from people telling me they've already voted, and it wasn't until I visited the website myself that I fully realized what an accomplishment this was.

As I continue celebrating six years of Bishop’s Sweets, today I want to reflect on another part of this journey that some may not be familiar with.

While many know Bishop’s Sweets for cakes, pies, cobblers, and other baked goods, the business has also had the privilege of providing full-service catering for schools, churches, nonprofit organizations, weddings, repasses, graduations, family reunions, retirement celebrations, and other private events.

I am truly grateful to every individual, family, and organization that has trusted Bishop’s Sweets to be a part of their special occasions. Your support over these six years has meant more than you know!

Of course, it's impossible to capture six years of catering memories in one post. These are simply a few pictures I had readily available, so please don't feel overlooked if your event isn't pictured. Every opportunity and every supporter has been appreciated!

❤️ 6 YEARS OF SWEET MEMORIES: 31 DAYS OF REFLECTION ❤️

WHEN THE COMMUNITY SHOWED UP FOR ME! ❤️

As I continue reflecting on the past six years of Bishop’s Sweets, there are certain moments that will forever hold a special place in my heart. Some memories bring smiles, others bring tears, but all of them remind me of just how blessed I have been throughout this journey.

I'm often asked why I have such a strong passion for giving back to the community. Why am I so committed to serving others, supporting families, and extending a helping hand whenever possible?

Well, let me take you back to August 2021.

Bishop’s Sweets had been in business for just 10 short months when our area experienced a power outage that lasted three consecutive days.

In what seemed like an instant, I lost approximately $800 worth of inventory. Refrigerators and freezers filled with products I had worked hard to purchase and prepare were suddenly filled with items that had to be thrown away.

For a small business that had only been operating for 10 months, that was a devastating loss. We were still establishing ourselves, building our customer base, and working hard to make a name for Bishop’s Sweets in the community.

Several people encouraged me to file an insurance claim. However, given the deductible on my policy at the time, filing a claim simply wasn't a financially practical decision.

So there I was, just 10 months into my journey as a business owner, facing an unexpected setback and trying to figure out how I was going to recover.

I placed a simple handwritten sign on the door informing customers that we were closed because of the power outage.

I wasn't asking for donations. I wasn't requesting financial assistance. I was simply letting my customers know why we couldn't open.

But what happened next is something I will NEVER forget.

A customer saw that sign and, completely on their own, took the initiative to establish a GoFundMe account to help Bishop’s Sweets recover from the loss.

And then something extraordinary happened.

THE COMMUNITY SHOWED UP! ❤️

Within 24 hours, the outpouring of love, generosity, and financial support was absolutely overwhelming. People came together and contributed enough to help me replace everything I had lost.

But the story doesn't end there!

Within that same 24-hour period, after replacing the inventory, WE SOLD OUT OF EVERYTHING!

I still get emotional thinking about it.

People who didn't owe me anything decided that my little business was worth supporting. They saw a need and responded without being asked. They reminded me that Bishop’s Sweets was becoming more than just a place to purchase desserts. It was becoming part of a community that genuinely cared.

And that experience changed something in me.

It taught me that community is not simply about the people who walk through your doors and spend their money. It's about relationships. It's about compassion. It's about standing together when life takes an unexpected turn.

So when people ask me why I'm so passionate about community service, why I believe in giving back, and why I try to show up for others whenever I can, I think about August 2021.

I remember what it felt like to be on the receiving end of generosity.

I remember what it felt like to have people believe in me when I was facing a difficult moment.

And I remember making a commitment in my heart that I would never forget what this community did for me.

Six years later, I haven't forgotten.

As we celebrate the sixth anniversary of Bishop’s Sweets throughout the month of October, I want to publicly thank every individual who donated, shared that GoFundMe, offered words of encouragement, or simply showed up to support us during that difficult time.

You may have thought you were just helping a small business recover from a power outage, but you were doing something far greater.

You were planting seeds of generosity that would continue to grow for years to come.

And every time I've had an opportunity to give back, whether through community outreach, supporting families, helping children, or simply being there for someone in need, I've carried the memory of what was done for me.

You showed up for me when I needed you. How could I not show up for someone else?

So, you ask me why my devotion to community service runs so deep?

October is a special month for Bishop's Sweets ! On October 3, 2020, right in the midst of a global pandemic, I stepped out on faith and opened the doors of Bishop’s Sweets. Six years later... what a journey it has been!

What began with sweets and food became so much more... celebrations, catering events, relationships, community service, giving back, and countless unforgettable memories.

So throughout October, we're celebrating 31 Days of Memories! I'll be reaching into the archives to share photos, events, customers, community moments, behind-the-scenes memories, and pieces of this incredible six-year journey.

But I don't want to take this trip down memory lane alone! I want to hear from YOU! ❤️
