🖐🏾 Happy International Left-Handers Day!

Yes, Chef Shane is officially a LEFTY… but there’s a catch. 😂

I write with my left hand, but somehow I do practically EVERYTHING ELSE with my right hand. Cooking, stirring, cutting, working—you name it. 🤦🏾‍♂️😂

So today I’m proudly representing the roughly 10% of people who are left-handed… even though my right hand is probably somewhere saying, “Now wait a minute—I do most of the work around here!” 😂👨🏾‍🍳

Either way, the left hand signed up for the club, so I’M CELEBRATING! 😂

Happy International Left-Handers Day to all my fellow lefties! 🖐🏾

To so many, he was affectionately known simply as "Dad." Every time Liz was in the neighborhood, there was one request that seemed to never change: she had to stop by BISHOP'S SWEETS and pick up one of our banana muffins for him. It became more than just a treat...it became a tradition. Seeing the smile on his face and the joy that simple muffin brought him was something we always looked forward to.

It is amazing how the smallest acts of kindness and the simplest moments become the memories we cherish most.

On behalf of Bishop's Sweets , I extend my heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Liz and the entire family during this difficult time. May God surround you with His peace, comfort, and strength, and may the precious memories of "Dad" continue to bring smiles for years to come.

Rest peacefully, Dad. You will be remembered with great affection, and your love for our banana muffins will always hold a special place in our hearts. ❤️

Thank you all so much for the incredible birthday wishes! Every call, text, message, and comment made my day even more special, and I truly appreciate the love you showed me.

This year, instead of gifts, I asked that, if you were able, you celebrate my birthday by performing an act of kindness for someone else. I believe even the smallest gesture can make a meaningful difference in someone's day.

To honor that same request, I spent part of my birthday preparing some fruit platters for some of our local first responders. I don't share that for recognition, but simply because I wanted to participate in the same spirit of kindness I was encouraging others to embrace.

If you were able to perform an act of kindness and you're comfortable sharing, I'd love to hear about it in the comments. Your story may inspire someone else to do the same.

Thank you again for all of your birthday wishes, your prayers, and your friendship. Your kindness has been a true blessing, and I pray we continue finding ways to be a blessing to others.

Today is my birthday, and this year I'm asking for something different.

Please don't feel obligated to buy me a gift. Instead, I'm asking you to honor my birthday by showing an act of kindness to someone else.

Kindness costs very little, but it can change someone's entire day—and sometimes even their life.

If you choose to participate, I'd love for you to comment below with what you did or simply write, "Done." My prayer is that together we create a ripple effect of compassion that reaches far beyond today.

Here are just a few ideas:

• Pay for someone's coffee or meal.
• Leave an extra-generous tip for a server.
• Buy groceries for someone in need.
• Donate food to a local food pantry.
• Visit a nursing home resident.
• Call or visit someone who lives alone.
• Encourage a caregiver or first responder.
• Write a handwritten note of appreciation.
• Pray with or for someone who needs encouragement.
• Offer to babysit for a single parent.
• Help an elderly neighbor with yard work or household chores.
• Hold the door open and greet people with a smile.
• Let someone merge into traffic with patience.
• Give blood if you're able.
• Donate clothing, blankets, or toiletries to a shelter.
• Mentor or encourage a young person.
• Volunteer at a church or community organization.
• Forgive someone and take the first step toward reconciliation.
• Send a thoughtful text or make a phone call to someone you've been thinking about.
• Simply listen to someone who needs to be heard.

The greatest birthday gift you could give me is knowing that because we are connected, someone else's day was made brighter.

Let's celebrate by spreading kindness—one act, one person, one heart at a time.
