We are so saddened by the passing of our friend and former team member, Judy. ❤️

We have so many memories of working with her, and quite a few of them still make us laugh out loud. This photo of her holding cupcakes couldn't be a more perfect memory of her — Judy ALWAYS found the dessert table! 😂🧁 We still remember the night she managed to drop an entire plate of cupcakes right in the door of our van.

And Judy had absolutely no concept of how far her voice carried. One night before serving a wedding, she leaned over and whispered to us, “Look at that woman…it looks like she's wearing drapes!”

We're fairly certain the entire room heard her. 😂 We about died.

That was Judy. She made us laugh, she made events more fun, and she left us with stories that we'll still be telling years from now.

We'll miss that smile, her laugh, her not-so-quiet whispers, and of course, finding her somewhere near the desserts.

Our thoughts are with Judy's family and everyone who loved her. We feel very lucky that for a few years, Judy was part of the Kampen's Catering family. ❤️

Rest easy, Judy. We hope there's one heck of a dessert table waiting for you. 🧁❤️

Yesterday was a fun day to be a caterer! 🎶

One of our gigs was catering for the bands and stage crews as they set up for Neal McCoy and Lee Brice!

NEW Cooperative puts on this concert every year as a thank-you to their employees and customers, and it’s a pretty spectacular event. Their team is always great to work with, and we’re grateful to get to be a small part of making it happen.

And we’ll admit, this one made our day… ❤️

Several of the band and crew members went out of their way to tell us that our food was some of the best they’ve had on the road. When you think about how many cities, venues, and catered meals these crews experience, that’s a compliment we’re pretty darn proud of!

Great food, great people, and a little live music mixed in — not a bad Saturday at Kampen’s Catering. 🎸

An unforgettable evening at Dinner on the Heights. ✨

From our outdoor kitchen overlooking the Grotto of the Redemption to an intimate dinner for eight with incredible food, wine, and perfect weather, it was a night to remember.

Thank you to our guests for supporting the Grotto and helping preserve this incredible place. We hope it's a dinner you'll remember for a lifetime. 💚

Ever wonder why caterers ask for a final guest count well before your event?

It's not because we don't want to be flexible—it's because every change sets off a chain reaction behind the scenes.

When your guest count is finalized, we've already:
• Ordered food
• Created kitchen production schedules
• Secured staff
• Printed event details and invoices
• Planned prep days so fresh items are made at the right time
• Staged tableware and serving equipment

Even adding or removing just a few guests means updating recipes, prep quantities, staffing, tableware, event sheets, invoices, and kitchen instructions. Every change has to be communicated to multiple team members, and the more times something is changed, the greater the chance something gets missed.

That's why we ask for final guest counts 30 days before weddings and 10 days before most other catered events. It gives our team the time to do what we do best—prepare everything accurately, efficiently, and with the quality your event deserves.

We know unexpected things happen, and we'll always do our best to help when they do. But meeting those deadlines helps ensure your event runs smoothly from start to finish.
