Last week we hosted our Advanced Farm Camp for ages 9-14!

It was such a fun week with friendly competitions. We are so grateful for the parents who sign their kids up, the campers who come to make memories, the COWnselors who help lead all the stations & of course my family and farm for making these experiences possible!

It was a DAIRY good week!

On Monday, June 22, 2026, at approximately 4:45 a.m., a passerby contacted the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center to report a barn fire at 7955 Trading Post Trail in the Town of Farmington. The caller reported smoke and flames coming from the east side of the barn, along with an electrical buzzing sound. The caller also alerted the residents, who began checking on the cattle.

The Fillmore Fire Department was dispatched and quickly upgraded the incident to a Box Alarm. Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded and found the structure fully engulfed in flames, with heavy smoke throughout the area.

The Fillmore Fire Department immediately upgraded the fire to a Third Alarm. The following fire departments responded with personnel and equipment to assist: Boltonville, Newburg, Kewaskum, Jackson, Kohlsville, West Bend, Waubeka, Silver Creek, Fredonia, Random Lake, Belgium, Ozaukee Central Fire Department–Saukville, and Beechwood.

Fire crews were assisted by Elbe Land and Water Management, which utilized heavy equipment to remove a large quantity of stored straw and assist with debris removal from the collapsed structure.

Trading Post Trail was closed for approximately six hours to support firefighting operations. No injuries to firefighters or other emergency personnel were reported.

The barn, which included a milking parlor, was declared a total loss. Damage is estimated to exceed $1 million. The fire is not believed to be suspicious in nature, and none of the dairy cattle on the property were harmed.

Year 13: 2 weeks in of Farm Camp and realizing I hardly took any pictures/videos because we were too busy having a DAIRY good time!

Grateful for all the campers who've joined us so far and will in the coming weeks! Thankful to have the best COWnselor team around! Blessed with a supportive family and a beautiful farm to share with our community!

God is good. All the time.
