Thank you to everyone who purchased raffle tickets in support of the Paradise Farm Education Program. We met our fundraising goal of $1500 to purchase a kit to build a greenhouse for the farm education program!

The reclaimed maple and fir flooring is installed!

It’s not finished yet. That will happen after all the other work is done. Some boards are darker, some lighter. Most have been walked on for a hundred years already.

After all those trips around Wisconsin, all those boards stacked in our garage, then barn and then stacked all over our kitchen and yard, all those hours of pulling nails, cleaning grooves, cutting bad ends and wondering whether we had completely lost our minds…we can finally see what Jim saw from the beginning.

A floor with a history.

It feels especially right in this house, where the old and new are being woven together. And now these reclaimed boards are underfoot, carrying a little piece of other Wisconsin homes into ours.

And yes, Jim was right.

Again. 😉
