Here's a look/see of what we've been doing in May:
pigs escaping down to the pond;
cows standing in the shade;
feeding orphaned baby lambs;
putting a $1 house on the land;
and creating all-natural tallow skin care!

This is the opposite of industrial agriculture.
We have none of those economies of scale and gov subsidies, so our food is not dirt cheap.

But we do have fresh green pastures, sunlight, and room to roam and root!

That makes for happy animals, a healthy environment, and nutritious meat.

Pastured Pork: Contains significantly higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids.

This is due to the pigs’ varied diet, which includes grasses, roots, insects, and forage plants rich in omega-3s.

Pastured pork has twice as much vitamin E, B vitamins and D.

Pastured Pork contains higher levels of essential minerals like iron, zinc, selenium, and potassium. These nutrients are absorbed from the soil and forage plants that pigs consume while rooting outdoors.

Pastured Pork has better fat quality with more polyunsaturated fats and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), which has anti-inflammatory and potential anti-cancer properties.

Pastured pork provides about 8% more protein than CAFO pork, likely due to the pigs' ability to exercise freely and develop stronger muscle tissue.

Pastured pork tends to have a deeper red color and richer flavor due to the pigs’ active lifestyle and varied diet.

CAFO pork is often pale ("the other white meat") due to lack of exercise and a monotonous diet.
