Unfortunately, the food truck is a no-go because we live in a residential area not a commercial one not to mention the cost and accessibility issues for me. we are going to operate under the cottage laws meaning we have to label our products and sell them in a pack we are working on our ingredient labels and we might be able to sell our tamales that are baked without any meat meaning they will have paste instead of sauce so red paste green paste and different dry broth powders meaning we can add more flavors such as beef powder pork powder chicken powder turkey powder. As well as our sweet tamales that we're working on. We appreciate your love and support and we are trying to do our best to provide you with safe legal food that you will love. As promised we wouldn't sell you anything that we wouldn't eat ourselves!

For those of you that don't know her story my mom is from Oaxaca Mexico. She studied English in college and even went to Canada to get her associates. She's worked very hard her entire life. The reason why I pushed her to do the tamale stand in the first place was so she didn't have to work so hard, she's worked in food service her entire life and she's a great cook so I thought it would be easier for her to do that instead of a manual labor job. I encouraged her to do the sweet tamales cuz I thought if worse comes to worse that's what we can do. And so far we're not dead yet I really appreciate all you for your nice comments and support. Whoever called the health department on it I hope you aren't expecting us to be sad we were already planning on these things and I hope you feel proud of yourself. I hope you did it with good intentions and not just to spite. My mom started this job because she wanted me to have a job! I've been rejected from many places because of my disability and we finally found something that we both could do! I just hope that the ones who stopped and supported us know that we had no bad intentions, we have to do with legally required of us. Hopefully you'll like the sweet tamales as much as the chicken ones! We're going to work hard and hopefully tomorrow will find out if we can have a truck! Thank you!

Good news guys we talked to the health department oh, and they said we can sell our sweet tamales as long as we bake them! Even better we don't need a license! We're protected under cottage food laws that way! We just have to label our tamales and we'll probably have to sell them in a pack, give us a couple weeks to get this all figured out. And we'll tell you when were open again and hopefully we can save money for a food trailer!

11/05/2021

We might be able to sell sweet tamales with a bakery license. Sweet tamales are made from sugar masa and cinnamon stuffed with fruit. That will help until we get the trailer situation figured out thanks! Keep your fingers crossed!

We have four options,

Option number one, open an actual restaurant and get all of the license paperwork which is too expensive. So option 1 is out.

Option number 2, find someone with a licensed kitchen it's nice enough to let us cook from it. Which we don't know anybody so option 2 is out.

Option number three, get a food truck or as my mom called it a choo choo car. Which seems feasible, but the problem is zoning laws, if they tell us we can't have a food truck in our driveway or our yard we're screwed.

Option number four sell sweet tamales, no meat inside just fruit until we get the money for a truck.

We're obviously going to call the engineering office to see if we can have a food trailer in our driveway but if any of you guys know the information would be much appreciated. We have to get a food truck that's been inspected

We hope this helps so, if any of you guys know something about food trailers or anything else that could be helpful it would be appreciated.

We got a letter from the Butler county public health saying we have to shut down our operations until we get a proper license (letter didn't specify what license we need.) as of right now we can't sell tamales to anyone , we are going to do whatever we can to get a proper license so we can keep selling please do not message us or call for any tamales at this time. We appreciate your support! We will let you know when we get all the necessary licenses we need! Don't be sad will be back!
