Coffee, Curls & a Couple of Big Milestones ❤️

Hi Coterie family!

October is a pretty big month for me! I'm turning 40 AND celebrating 20 years behind the chair as a hairstylist. Which is wild because I genuinely don't know how either of those things happened so fast. 😂

Some of you know me as the owner of Coterie, some of you know me from Bounce Salon, and some of you probably just know me as the lady who's always running around the cafe.

But here's something you might not know!

Before Coterie ever existed, I was a hairstylist. And I still am!

I specialize in curly hair, and for the last 20 years I've been helping people learn to love, understand, and care for their natural curls. My favorite part of what I do isn't just giving someone a great haircut. It's teaching them how to recreate those results at home.

That's actually where my philosophy, **Process Over Product**, comes from. I believe understanding your hair and learning how to style it is just as important as the products you put in it.

And if you didn't know, Bounce Salon is tucked right inside Coterie!

When I opened the cafe, I wanted to create the same feeling I'd spent years creating behind my salon chair. A place where people feel comfortable, accepted, and connected. Somewhere you can show up exactly as you are.

So in a way, Coterie and Bounce have always been connected. They're just two different ways I get to do what I love.

As I head into my 40s and my third decade behind the chair, I've been thinking a lot about where this next chapter will take me. I'm excited to continue growing, teaching, and sharing what I've learned over the years.

But mostly, I'm just grateful.

Grateful for the people who have trusted me with their hair, the people who walk through Coterie's doors, and everyone who has supported these two little businesses of mine.
