Thank you all for an amazing berry day!! We hope you enjoy your berries. 🍓
Here are some storage tips to keep them fresh longer:
❤️ Keep strawberries cold to extend their shelf life. Store them in the fridge with a light covering of foil or on a screen porch if temperatures range between 34-40°F.
❤️ Avoid washing berries until you're ready to eat or use them. Washing them in advance can speed up spoilage.
❤️ Remove any molded berries promptly to prevent the spread of mold, which can happen quickly.
For freezing, here are the best methods:
❄️ Wash, hull, and slice strawberries. Add sugar (up to 1/2 cup per pint), stir, and place in freezer bags. This method is perfect for making strawberry pie, topping ice cream and cereal, cobblers, and more.
❄️ Wash, hull, and spread strawberries on a cookie sheet. Freeze until solid, then transfer them to a large freezer bag. This method is ideal for smoothies because you can easily grab just the amount you need.
