We are a small-scale family farm growing over 100 varieties of vegetables and flowers on one quarter acre of land. Our no-till raised beds are entirely hand-tended and thoughtfully farmed using organic techniques to ensure the health of the soil we work. By farming, we wish to create a healthy, productive and meaningful lifestyle for our family while rooting deep into and nourishing our community.

It’s a lovely thing to be part of a community where we can rely on each other. That’s why it’s a bit disappointing to see the honor system for our eggs not being respected as we’d hoped. We’ve noticed eggs being swapped around or taken without proper payment, and while we know most people mean well, these small actions can add up. We totally understand that times can be tough, and we’re not here to judge—if anyone is in a difficult financial spot, we’d much rather they reach out to us so we can help accommodate. The system only works when there’s honesty, and we’d love to keep it going in the spirit it was intended—for everyone’s benefit.

Tis the season of "almost forgot to post last week's share!"

This time of year we are not only focusing on the harvest and quality of produce for CSA members, but also on preparing our soils for winter and next season.

It's a busy time on the farm for creating healthy soil that's teeming with life so our vegetables continue to be vibrant and nutrient-dense for many seasons to come.

The first batch of carrots came in and I chickened out and froze them. The pressure canner was staring at me in the pantry and when the second batch came in I knew it was now or never to learn thing thing.

The first time I used it, I stood by it nervously the whole time, made sure to follow all the directions to a T, and was a tad bit afraid I would make it implode.

BUT, phew, what a relief and how exciting when everything came out okay. Our first batch of pressure canned goods. I have since canned corn, potatoes, and green beans too. It was a reminder to always try things that challenge you, that make learn and grow as a person. A life in search of new knowledge is a life well-lived.
