Guess what Rob and Meg did today? We went and picked up the beef we had processed! JUST in time for the Christmas Prime Rib Roasts and all the customer requests! Beef fat for rendering tallow, marrow bones, steaks, and other roasts are back online.

Also, we have dates for more steers to go to the processor. Call, message, or order a half or whole beef online to stock your freezer with everything!

Our favorite tree tradition: We get our Charlie Brown tree off the farm. Almost every year, we grab a tree we found while walking, riding, or hunting earlier in the year. We hike out, chop her down, and drag her back. We love the imperfect and unkempt looks of them. Some are more Charlie Brown-ish than others 😆

And I'll never forget the year I found one way out in a pasture across a steep ravine and a creek. It was as far out as one could possibly go. We had several feet of snow to add to it. I was laughing at Rob the entire time he struggled with it. And we didnt have an ATV to help, so we hoofed it the whole way. We were both whooped trying to get it back and swore we’d never do that again, but we did it every year after that.

When you forget to thaw the spoiled puppy’s food, you get this look. 🫠... And it's 5 pm- she gets fed in the morning.

We just added this to the online store because we have had so many inquiries for dog food and have been feeding this to our guardian dogs on the pasture for quite a while. It is all Chicken: Back, necks, liver, hearts, feet, and bones ground up.

We figured we had enough stash to share with your pups. I throw a package to each dog every day. We feed three Maremmas, one Albash, one Anatolian, two Labradors, and one Border Collie. They're all very active, and boy, do they look forward to food time!

Rob and I are Hauling steers to the processor early this morning. She's a little slick in spots. Welcome the first real snowfall of the season.

In the freezer 🥶we put away some delicious steaks from the half beef we just got back from the processor. 😋
We have been doing more wholes and half beef lately, so this is the only half that made it back.

Rob is working his magic in the shop on the John Deere 4230 today with his brother. He's working on the clutch valve. This tractor was a bit of a troublemaker during hay season. But she won't be a troublemaker next hay season! Thank goodness he knows how to do this stuff.

Fun fact: Woods need managing just like pastures and fields. We are taking care of our woods and heating our home simultaneously. We are removing some wind-damaged hardwoods that are crooked or have holes that don't make good logs. Doing this allows what's left to grow taller, straighter, and more useful.
