Barn is filling up nicely and we still have plenty to bale. Next dry spell we will have square and round bales available in the field. $5 for square (message or call before we bale for square bales) and $50 for round bales. Discounts given if you purchase using silver, we will use the morning’s spot price to determine the discount.

Finally getting a start on the hay season, we are going to move fast when the weather cooperates so if you are interested call or message to get on the list. Should be finishing the first field today and moving on.

We have dried out enough to start mowing, still a lot of wet spots we aren’t able to do right now. We will do our best to move from field to field to bale the dry hay and pray that the weather is good later on and the rest drys out enough to do.

With the El Niño coming in early there is no guarantee on what the weather and hay will do, get it now from where ever you can and put up some extra for next year as this is supposed to last up to 3 years.

Now is a great time to save money on your hay purchases. Silver has dropped considerably recently, purchase silver now while the price is low and use it to buy your hay at a discount. We use the mornings spot price to determine cost for hay and offer discounts to those using silver. Finally getting a break in the weather and starting baling this coming week. When I started haying a few years back🙂, baling twine was $20, it is now $70. Fuel was $1.75 ish, today it was $5.75, a tractor wIth loader was $27,000, now it is $67,000, I haven’t priced mowers, balers, tedders, or rakes lately but I don’t believe they have gone down. Hay was $2.50 for squares and $25 for rounds, last year it was $6 and $60. Ask my accountant, I am not getting rich doing this and it is getting harder to break even. I am not sure where the price will end up this year or if I can even afford to continue. Predictions are that fuel will be over $10 a gallon in a couple of weeks, between this, repairs, etc it is getting scary.

I like serving my usual customers and will try to continue. If I give you a day and time to pick up hay you may want to make sure you show up. Things are going to change day by day with the instability we are having in the world.
