Happy National Farmers Day to my favorite farmer, Trina! 👩‍🌾 🥬 🥒 🥕

Before I started Juice Box, the Red River Market was my happy place and Hildebrant farm was where I got all my veggies! In the spring of 2019, I met with Trina to discuss partnering with her to get as many veggies as I could for juicing.

Little did I know, this meeting was the start of a beautiful, life long friendship. Words cannot express how much I love this woman and the incredible work that she does to grow delicious, nutrient dense, organically grown veggies for our community!!

This has been a tough season for all the farmers, so I ask you to help her end the season with a bang! She will be closing her market on Main Ave in West Fargo for the season this coming Saturday! So you have 5 more days to stock up on all the yummy veggies, pumpkins and plants that you can get!

An Apple a Day… 🍎🥰

Decided to drive out to Gottenborg Apple Orchard this afternoon! We love this organically grown orchard near Audubon! As I strolled around the orchard, I couldn’t help but think about how blessed we are that we get to partner with them to bring you some of the most incredible juice!

Thoroughly enjoyed chatting with David and how he found his passion for apple trees AND how he became a chiropractor! We even got to talk about health and wellness. 🥰

So let’s talk apples. There’s something to be said about an apple a day keeps the doctor away! These little babies are packed with loads of nutrients! Including…

🍎Vitamin C: An essential antioxidant, vital for immune function, skin health, and wound healing.

🍎Polyphenols: These antioxidants are known for their role in reducing inflammation and decreasing the risk of chronic diseases.

🍎Quercetin: A flavonoid that possesses anti-inflammatory, antiviral, anticancer, and antidepressant effects.

I’m challenging myself to have an apple every day in October! Even though the u-pick season is now over at the orchard, you can find his apples at the Red River Market, Hildebrant farm and the Veggie Barn!

When was the last time you had an apple? The apple I enjoyed at the orchard was a Kudos, which is a cross between a Honeycrisp and a Zestar. I loved it almost as much as SweeTango which is my favorite 🤩

And remember, organic is best since apples are on the Environmental Working Group dirty dozen, which is a list of the most contaminated fruits and veggies. (And no, you can’t wash off the pesticides)
