Essential equipment for today’s farm chores. The Giv’r mittens are incredible. Warm and, with a season of use, extremely flexible!
The Keen lined winter boots kept my toes perfectly comfortable.
And a pair of old ski googles to keep bitter winds and snow out of my eyes. Kept my glasses from fogging up too.
Google search: Giv’r and Keen.

Here’s what it took to tend to the farm animals today. I was out over an hour breaking ice for cattle and refilling their stock tank. (Had to bring a short length of hose that I’d thawed out in the house. ). Then down to bring water to replace the slabs of ice in their water tubs. For that I filled and toted 5 gallon buckets from a hydrant across the pasture. Not sure what the wind chill was but the was a good strong wind ablowin’.

I’ll do the same 2-3 more time tomorrow.

The good life….
