I wasn’t prepared for these emotions 😭😭😭 Seeing these beautiful creatures—THOUSANDS of them—up close and personal, grazing in the Swiss Alps, was so surreal. 🥹🐮🇨🇭
Switzerland has a long tradition of alpine grazing, with many cows spending the warmer months on mountain pastures. The bells you hear ringing across the mountains are traditionally used to help farmers locate them across the vast landscape.
As someone who loves animals and chooses not to eat meat, there was something especially emotional about being surrounded by them. Watching them graze, wander around, and simply exist against a backdrop this beautiful was a moment I wish I could bottle up forever.
I know that a beautiful landscape doesn’t tell the whole story of an animal’s life, and I don’t take that lightly. But being able to see these animals up close, appreciate their beauty, and feel that sense of connection was something I’ll never forget.
Sometimes travel reminds you just how incredible the world is—and how much the lives of the animals we share it with matter.
