Weekly Highlights: Brussel Trees, Mushrooms and Local Pawpaw fruit available this week!

Seasons are changing but some summer produce is still available for a limited time!

Tomatoes: Tomato season is dwindling but we should have heirloom slicers and cherry tomatoes in stock for a few more weeks

Carrots and Beets: Fresh carrots from our field are back in stock! They will continue to sweeten as the frosts start so we'll dig them fresh every week. No tops but if you want carrot tops just let us know.

Watermelon: We have a handful of seeded and seedless red watermelon left

Eggplant: We did our last harvest of these and have a great supply for this week

Broccoli and Broccolini:

Brussel Sprouts: Brussel Trees (Stalks) available from our fields starting this week!

Lettuce and Greens: Beautiful head lettuce this week along with plenty of tender salad mix. Arugula and Tiny Tatsoi

Apples: Beautiful Honeycrisp, Macintosh, Cortland and Gala apples from Barden Orchard

Pawpaw: We harvested some really great looking pawpaw fruit from a property right here in Richmond. Some are as big as a mango! They taste like a mix of banana, mango and pineapple, a locally grown spray free tropical fruit!

The Bread Box Bakery will be baking fresh sourdough and sweets daily!

New This Week: A batch of our own strawberry jam, No Spray Asian Pears, Our Sweet Potatoes

Sweet Corn: Final sweet corn of the season available until sold out!

Tomatoes: Tomato season is dwindling but we should have heirloom slicers and cherry tomatoes in stock for a few more weeks

Sweet Potatoes: We dug our sweet potatoes before the storm and cured them all week, we did 6 different varieties for you to try! They are all a little different and all delicious! They will continue to sweeten a little more over the next 2 weeks.

Winter Squash and Pumpkins: A great assortment of squash Delicata, Acorn, Pie Pumpkin, Spaghetti, Honeynut, Butternut and now several other interesting ones including Sunshine squash that we really enjoyed this week.

We grew these all on our farm. Perfect for carving.

We also have "Edible Ornamentals" beautiful ornamentals but also delicious to eat when you are done with them or whenever you feel like it! We have signs indicating what each one is, there are a few different types outside and inside the store.

Apples: Beautiful Honeycrisp, Macintosh, Cortland and Gala apples from Barden Orchard

Asian Pears: We have delicious spray free asian pears from Torphy Homestead in West Kingston. They might look a little rough around the edges but they are so sweet and good. Asian pears are crunchier than normal pears and more like eating an apple.

The Bread Box Bakery will be baking fresh sourdough and sweets daily!

The Baguette is one of the very best breads, and a farmer favorite. Made fresh daily. Never sold the day after it is baked.

A long thin loaf with delicious thin and crunchy crust and a great price point. Perfect for sandwiches, enjoying with cheese or just eating with dinner!

Eat that day for the best texture, a fresh delight!

We have fresh sourdough bread coming out of the oven all morning and loads of fresh vegetables!

This will be our Last Sunday open for the year!

We will continue to be open Wed-Sat.

We have decided to close the farm market on Saturday. We are planning to be open on Sunday for normal hours.

We will be open today 12-6 with lots of great produce, bread and other goods to hunker down with and cook with this weekend!

We harvested our sweet potato crop yesterday and now just need 1 more week to cure them before we start sales, 6 varieties to try this year!

Fresh from our fields this week!

Sweet Corn: We are picking our final sweet corn patch and it's delicious! Should have enough for all of this week but we'll have it until sold out! There is a good amount of worm damage, just cut the tip off before you even husk it. Some will already be cut in the store.

Tomatoes: Tomato season is dwindling but we should have heirloom slicers and cherry tomatoes in stock for a few more weeks

Carrots and Beets: Fresh carrots from our field are back in stock! They will continue to sweeten as the frosts start so we'll dig them fresh every week. No tops but if you want carrot tops just let us know.

Watermelon: Fresh mini red seed and red and yellow seedless just came in fresh from our third planting. They are delicious too!

Broccoli and Broccolini:

Eggplant: Our plants made another nice flush, we'll have these until about frost!

Green Beans: Last decent week for fresh green beans! We'll continue picking our pole beans after this week but it will be limited

The Jalapeño Cheddar is a limited time offer bread made with our spicy jalapenoes, I thought the toast of this paired delicious with our morning eggs.

Fresh from our fields this week!

Sweet Corn: We have some delicious sweet corn from our last patch this week, we'll have a good supply this week and probably have some left next week.

Tomatoes: We have a good amount of San Marzano plum tomatoes available this week in boxes for $2 a lb. These are premium sauce tomatoes with a high dry matter content, less juice and sauce quickly. We will have them available in the market (under the window) or you can email us to have your name put on a box.

Cantaloupe: Very limited

Watermelon: Fresh Mini Seeded watermelon are back in stock! Our last crop of seedless will be ready soon.

Broccoli and Broccolini: Back in stock this week, our first fall crop is a little light it should improve as fall continues

Green Beans: Last good week for bean availability

Lettuce and Greens: Good supply this week of Heads of Lettuce, some salad mix and tons of beautiful Arugula, Baby Tatsoi and Gemstone mix.

Other vegetables: Radishes and leeks

Herbs: Basil and Parsley. Last good week for Basil, our pesto makers special will continue 4 bunches for $10

Onions: Brown and Red from our fields.

Potatoes: Our potatoes are sold out. We are getting some organic potatoes from another regional farm soon.

Zucchini and Summer Squash: Still in pretty good supply but the plants are declining.

Sweet Peppers: Great harvests this week of Sweet Peppers in all colors. So delicious in salads.

Winter Squash and Pumpkins: So many squashes for sale, Delicata, Acorn, Pie Pumpkin, Spaghetti, Honeynut, Butternut, others curing and will be out soon!

We grew these all on our farm and think we put a reasonable price on them.

We also have "Edible Ornamentals" beautiful ornamentals but also delicious to eat when you are done with them or whenever you feel like it! We have signs out front indicating what each one is, we are adding a few new ones this week.

Peaches and Apples: Last week for delicious Steere farm peaches! A variety of apples will continue.

Pawpaws: We have some wild harvested fruit in stock while they last!

The Cinnamon Raisin toasted with butter is just perfection on these cooler mornings. The most concentrated cinnamon swirls are in the middle of the loaf!

Summer Harvests are not over yet but beautiful fall harvests are starting to come in!

Sweet Corn: We are into our next patch so we will have a good supply for the next 2 weeks, then our season will be about over. The flavor is still delicious! The ears are little smaller so the price will be reduced.

Tomatoes: Still a good supply of slicing and cherry tomatoes. Green tomatoes on sale this week to try. Ask to be added to our list when Roma and San Marzano plum tomatoes are available.

Cantaloupe: Small amounts from our third planting are coming in on a daily basis still.

Watermelon: Fresh Seeded watermelon are coming back into stock at some point today along with seedless. The season only lasts 2-3 weeks more!

Green Beans: Green, yellow pole beans in good supply this week.

Lettuce and Greens: Good supply this week of Heads of Lettuce, Salad Mix and some very nice baby arugula!

Other vegetables: Radishes and leeks

Herbs: Basil and Parsley. Last good week for Basil, our pesto makers special will continue 4 bunches for $10

Onions: Brown and Red from our fields.

Sweet Peppers: Great harvests this week a variety of absolutely delicious Horn Shaped Peppers that are super sweet along with some more traditional bell peppers. We do prefer growing and eating the horn peppers though.

Winter Squash and Pumpkins: Delicata, Acorn, Pie Pumpkin and Spaghetti are out for sale. Butternut and Honeynut are curing before sales begin.

Pumpkins are out on display! We had a great crop of beautiful pumpkins this year, they will be on the porch, come check it out and make us one of your new pumpkin sources!

We are also excited to introduce "Edible-Ornamentals" which are awesome ornamentals but also delicious to eat when you are done with them or whenever you feel like it! We have signs out front indicating what each one is!

Peaches and Apples: Delicious yellow peaches from Steere Orchard this week and Apples from Steers as well. We may be able to get a few more next week but peach season is almost over!

Pawpaws: We may have some this week on Friday or the Weekend.

The Pullman Loaf are a plain sourdough loaf with a little bit of butter added. They are so perfectly square and long with seemingly endless slices, perfect for traditional sandwiches!

Summer is not over but it is starting to wane, we are picking our own big pumpkin, ornamental and winter squash patch over the next week to display at the market!

Sweet Corn: We have a small stock but unfortunately we missed a planting date in mid June (Strawberry season!) so we will be having our first sweet corn gap of the year this week. We do have a great patch that will be starting by next week. A few may trickle in this weekend but we won't be a good source for your Labor Day weekend corn this year unfortunately!

Tomatoes: Try the orange Mimosa grape tomato, our new favorite a delicious fruity flavor.

Cantaloupe: Fairly small amounts from our third planting are coming in on a daily basis, unfortunately the coyotes are eating most of them!

Watermelon: Beautiful seedless organic watermelon in stock all week, mini seeded will be back in stock within the week or two.

Green Beans: Green, yellow pole beans in good supply this week.

Eggplant: Just about done for the year unless the plants next flush makes it in time.

Lettuce and Greens: Good supply this week of Heads of Lettuce, Salad Mix and Arugula!

Pawpaws: Excited to have pawpaw fruit from local foragers, a unique banana, pineapple, mango fusion flavored fruit. A rare fruit to try this week!

Pawpaws generally have a rough appearance with black spots, one reason they never made it in commercial production, but it's only on the skin!

Fresh from the fields this week

Sweet Corn: Good supply of our organic sweet corn will continue! It's a little small so we are doing a reduced price until we pick larger ears again.

Tomatoes: Loads of beautiful heirloom, beefsteak and cherry tomatoes still coming in. We are harvesting bulk Roma and San Marzano tomatoes for sauce and salsa makers. 25 lb boxes for $50. We'll have them available in the store or if you don't see them just request a box via email or in person in the store.

We also have very good quality B grade slicing tomatoes available in 10 lb boxes for $20

Cantaloupe: No cantaloupe this week, we are awaiting a smaller second crop to come in hopefully soon.

Watermelon: Small qty of red seeded still in stock.

On sale this week only for only $.75 a lb! Two kinds of red and one yellow seedless, all delicious!

Organic Produce Coming into our farm market fresh from our fields!

Sweet Corn: Good supply of our organic sweet corn will continue. There has been a lot (upwards of 50-75%) of minor tip damage from birds or worms eating a few of the top kernels. 95% percent of the ear is still perfect to eat if you cut the top off. Thank you for understanding!

Tomatoes: Loads of beautiful heirloom, beefsteak and cherry tomatoes. We are harvesting bulk Roma tomatoes for sauce and salsa makers. 25 lb boxes for $50. We'll have them available in the store some days but just email us to have one put aside!

Blackberries: Last few half pints of blackberries for the season!

Cantaloupe: Last good harvest from our first planting, we will probably not have them for 2 weeks after they sell out as we wait for our planting to ripen.

Watermelon: Yellow and Red Seeded are still in stock. We also are picking seedless red and yellow now! The seedless are delicious too!

Green Beans: Green, yellow pole beans in good supply this week.

Eggplant: Striped, Black, Japanese and Fairy Tale Eggplant

Lettuce and Greens: Lots of Brandon Family Farm grown head lettuce is back in stock! Salad mix will continue to be limited availability for now, all of the wildlife seem to be conspiring against us getting this back in stock.

Demi classic and country loaves are half sized loaves (a little less than 1 lb) with a great price point and make it easier to eat the whole bread while it's fresh!

Fresh bread baked that day is such a treat, but if it does sit for a day or two, toasting it can really help bring back the freshness!
