About Us
Geer Family Farm is a small hobby farm on 2 acres located outside of West Lafayette, Ohio. Adam Geer and his wife Rose, decided to make the dream of raising their own food a reality in 2013. It started more out of a necessity as their already large family began to grow. The Geer family bunch has blossomed into a family of 10. Each of the 8 Geer kids contributes to life on the family farm in their own way, bringing their own individual strengths. As the family became more comfortable with raising and growing enough food to sustain their family; it became a goal to bring farm to table to their family, neighbors and eventually community.
Geer Family Farm specializes in cage free chicken and pork. All of the feed given to the animals is made on site or purchased locally; no hormones or commercial feed is given. Pigs and chickens are given fruits, vegetables and nuts/grains (most of which is grown on their farm or locally) to substitue their diet. Good animal husbandry is also practiced and records are kept. All natural fertilizers are used to ensure no harsh chemicals or additives.
