On June 23, 2025, in Jackson County, Indiana, 4-year-old Maverick Flinn and his great-grandma, Nancy “Nanny” Fox, lost their lives in a tragic farming accident. In the days that followed, Charlie Fox—Maverick’s great-grandpa—urged fellow farmers to take just one minute — a Maverick Minute — to pause, inspect, and protect what matters most: life. The Maverick Minute Foundation serves to honor Maverick and Nanny’s legacy by partnering with organizations that are focused on creating safety education programs for youth, farm families, and all who work around heavy equipment. This will be achieved by providing resources and other support to increase the impact of safety awareness campaigns in rural America.
