We wanted to share an update regarding the ongoing progress at Battinelli Family Farms and the adjacent property formerly known as Mr. Wonton, which we recently purchased and are actively working to revitalize.

For Battinelli Family Farms, we have received zoning approval from the township and, since that approval, have been working with our engineers to navigate wetlands and Highlands Division requirements for our proposed commercial buildings. In addition, we are closely collaborating with the Department of Agriculture for approval of our farm-related structures on the site.

With our recent purchase of the adjacent property formerly known as Mr. Wonton, revitalization efforts are already underway. The site has undergone a full cleanup after years of neglect, and we are now working with engineers to address the septic system, as well as an architect to bring our overall design vision to life.

We were surprised by a recent post from Mayor Dale updating residents on township projects, which included an “update” on our project—unfortunately, without much context. We were not contacted by the Mayor or any township officials for an update on our progress. In response, we brought current plans and updates to Mayor Dale personally on July 13th and invited her to share them with the public in her next update. Mayor Dale declined and stated we could share the updates ourselves if we wished.

While we always enjoy speaking with our customers and local residents in person when questions arise, we wanted to take a moment to provide a more formal update and share a sneak peek of the plans for our newest property.

Thank you to everyone who has expressed excitement and support for these projects. We appreciate all of the continued support and understanding of all the behind the scenes work that goes into bringing new businesses to the township.

Over the last year we have worked to clean up this property and make way for all the new things to come. During that time we have loved all the people that have called, emailed or sent a message about how excited they were for this new project because this farm holds nostalgia and memories for them since it's been part of the community for a very long time.

We have had the delight of hearing about members of the community who used to work at the old farm or a relative, horseback ride after school, etc. If you have a memory, photo, something special you want to share about this property or a a family or friend who does please share as we would love to hear it. We are working on something and would love to include it. You can send a message on Instagram, Facebook or email us at [email protected]

Today we had the honor of attending the NJSBDC luncheon where Battinelli Landscaping was honored as a small business growth success awardee.

The New Jersey Small Business development center honored Battinelli Landscaping for its outstanding accomplishments among our businesses for diligence, hard work, and overall growth.

As business owners we are incredibly proud of this award as the Battinelli family and employees work hard daily to expand and adapt our businesses to the ever changing world.

Most recently we have worked with the NJSBDC to create business plans for our new project Battinelli Family Farms as we get the restoration of the farm underway.

The hard work and perseverance that Tony, Allison and the rest of the Battinelli family and staff have put in over the years has allowed us to continue to grow and expand along with the support of our customers and community.

We look forward to all the projects we have to come and appreciate the support.

Swipe for details on proposed plans as well as additional details on the lawsuit. We have put a lot of time, money and energy to revitalize this property and will not stop as we strongly feel it will better the town! As mentioned we are always here via social media and at our office to talk about any comments questions or concerns you have and will post updates about these matters on our social channels so residents can stay informed. There are tons of township Facebook groups where things get posted, rumors get started and false information gets put out there and unfortunately we cannot be an all the groups so when you see a post urge people to check out our social media for updates!

Please read! On Friday Battinelli Family Farms was served with a lawsuit on behalf of the Township of West Milford stating we cannot farm on our property at 1566 Union valley road. For those unaware of this fact, that property has been deemed a farm since the 1980’s. This is not something the township can decide by themselves, farm property land use is also approved and overseen by the State of New Jersey and Department of Agriculture .

We don’t write to beg for pity, but more to provide transparency and insight to the townspeople and a look into how their township and its administration is treating local businesses. It should be concerning to many, as the tax dollars they pay are being used to inhibit the growth of the township they live in. For the past 5 years we have been battling constant harassment from the township regarding several of our properties both personal and business that are in West Milford and this latest lawsuit furthers our case.

As a family-owned and operated business it is our number one goal to run our businesses and provide opportunities that build our community to create jobs, attractions and beautify our township. We live here, we shop here, and we eat here. We have several generations of family that have been and will continue to be raised in West Milford. Family is the root of this project and something that we are truly passionate about to better the community and be a place where residents and visitors can come enjoy together in the beautiful town of West Milford. We will not let the Township Administrations latest case of harassment deter us and we will not give up the fight.

We constantly receive messages of support and offers for help or questions of what people can do to help. We ask for your support in not only sharing our stories and posts but help us in our pursuit for a better West Milford.

Tonight, mayor Michele Dale tried to enforce a stop work order that was delivered to the farm. Despite the obstacles Mayor Michele Dale and the town administrator have thrown our way, we are going to continue to follow the guidance of the department of agriculture to properly and efficiently finish the farm. We want to make everyone aware that despite all of the challenge we continue to face, we are committed to making the farm a place west milford families to enjoy.

Yesterday we made a statement regarding the fire that happened at 280 Marshall Hill Rd. also known as our business B & B organic waste recycling. We stated of multiple suspicious details regarding the fire that were made on record and currently under arson investigation. One of the first suspicions was a trail cam that we had set up as Surveillance for the property that we found with the display screen broken, case cracked and the SD card removed and stolen. The second findings were two separate road flares seen in these photos in two separate locations on the property where fires took place. We are taking these discoveries very seriously for the safety of our employees and residents of the town. If you saw something on Sunday or heard anything that you feel is important or suspicion please call our office at 9737281200 or stop in during business hours.

To our valued customers and residents of the township of West Milford.

Later this morning a fire broke out on our property known as 280 Marshall hill road.
To everybody wondering what happened,  the fire protocol per court order for this property is as follows: the fire department is not allowed to step foot on property and put water on the fire due to the fact that essentially puts “fuel to the fire “ for mulch, until we permit them.

For today's incident the fire department showed up with multiple towns and water to put out a fire before owners were notified to permit them on the property.

We already had an employee on property, handling the matter who knew of the fire from a DPW employee and bystander within minutes of it starting, but he is not allowed to make decisions regarding the fire department stepping foot on the property as he is not one of the owners.

The township of West Milford officials and fire department for today's fire and a previous fire on the property in July went against court orders and did two things: 1. They did not call the owner of the property and 2. They started spraying water on the fires after the fire chief stating in court that he knows it makes it worse.

Our own investigation is underway due to many suspicions we found on the property. This will be our final statement regarding this matter until our own investigations are concluded.

Comments regarding our family's matters are being recorded. Court definition of liable is as follows, responsible by law; legally answerable; please be cautious of what you post going forward regarding the matter because any comments can be held against you in a court of law.

If anyone saw anything or has any questions please call our office at 9737281200 as we would be more than happy to answer any questions or concerns.

Sincerely
The Battinelli Family and Staff
