🌽🐔 Chickens of the Corn 🐔🌽

For the past month, our chickens have been rotating through Pasture One, where rows of feed corn have provided plenty of natural shade during these hot summer days.

Now the corn is ready for harvest — and it doesn't have far to travel!

We cut it fresh and feed it right back to the chickens in the same pasture where it grew. They love the ears of corn, but as you can see, they also make quick work of the fresh green leaves and stalks.

🌽 Harvested by hand.
🐔 Fed directly to the flock.

You can't get much more local than that!

Just another example of how we try to make the most of what we grow here at Hazelman Farms.

Ameraucana - 18 weeks and 13 weeks
Speckled Sussex - 13 weeks
Open Monday - Saturday 9am to 5pm, Sunday - 9am to 1pm. Please bring a box or pet carrier to transport chickens home.

It's a Boy named Blackberry. When kids name kids you get the best names. Visit Hazelman Farms Saturday August 8th, 10am to 4pm for u-pick eggs, goat and chicken feeding. Fluff and the rest of the Goatberries look forward to seeing you.
