Greaux the Good partner Big Daddy Farms was featured in local news this month, highlighting how their hydroponic growing system is helping meet increased demand for locally grown lettuce amid the ongoing Cyclospora outbreak.

As concerns around the outbreak have shifted some consumers’ shopping habits, local farmers are stepping up to fill the gap. Big Daddy Farms’ hydroponic system allows them to grow lettuce year-round and keep a steady supply on hand.

It’s a great example of Louisiana farmers adapting to meet their communities’ needs while keeping fresh food close to home. 🌱

Remember we are in the building beside our house. We have slicers and pickling cucumbers ,peas, frozen butterbeans, okra, squash , zucchini, patty pan and butternut squash, Japanese eggplant, white and yellow onions, fresh eggs and limited lettuce until next batch is ready. We also have Mustards’s come see us and shop local.
We take Venmo, square, PayPal , Zelle and cash app.

Hey Folks, we are loading up with lots of fresh picked goodies, since it’s so hot we moved all the produce into my man cave at the house.
We have fresh picked purple hulls, frozen vacuum sealed Butter Beans green and speckled, Okra, Frozen Sliced and whole as well, several varieties of Squash, Cucumbers, Onions, Red Potatoes and Lettuce.

This is one of my husband favorite meals. It’s so easy as long as you have clean and fresh lettuce. It’s taco salad . You can add meat and guacamole too. It takes 5 minutes to throw together. I added some of my pickled purple onions and it taste delicious. We all need a quick and somewhat healthy meal . Especially on hot days like today.
