Both ladies having some breakfast this morning. We are having a bit of trouble getting Mama Ellie to eat actual cow feed because she has only had bread and corn up to this point but with some patience, on both of our parts, and consistency hopefully she will come around soon.
FIY: Cows should not be fed bread because its high starch and sugar content causes rapid fermentation in the rumen, leading to severe health issues like acidosis, severe bloating, and potential death. While small, controlled amounts of bakery waste are sometimes used, excess bread disrupts digestive bacteria, causing gas buildup, diarrhea, and, in severe cases, rumen dysfunction. Ms. Ellie will never have to survive on bread again. Specific prayer requests are for her to be interested in the cow feed enough to give it a try. Once she starts accepting the feed we will have her healthy in no time. 🙏🏻🐮🚫🍞
