And with the frost last night the pick your own is closed for the season.

Thank you so much to everyone who has come out to pick flowers this summer. We really love seeing our frequent flyers, first dates, family outings, and everything in between enjoying our flower fields!

Our farm stand is still open for a few more weeks with all kinds of fall veggies, pumpkins, and some pre picked dahlia bouquets.

Thank you to everyone who has come out to pick flowers, pumpkins for your steps, and veggies for your dinners.

Next weekend looks mighty cold, which might pull the plug on dahlias for the season. If you have time this week, come on down!

We love seeing our frequent flyers, and first timers who say ā€œI’ve driven by this place for years but have never stopped beforeā€, we are glad you found us!

Flower Update: We got a light frost on Wednesday morning that did some damage, but didn’t take out all of our flowers.

Our Pick Your Own flower field is still OPEN, though you’ll have to do a little more searching and picking through the flowers than usual, but there are still plenty of pretty blooms to be found. The field may be winding down for the season, but there’s still many nice dahlias out there.

We also have dahlia bouquets for sale in the farm stand. Flower season won’t last much longer here so come enjoy it before it’s gone! šŸ’

Chris has been entering vegetables in the fair since he was 9 years old, and now August is in on the tradition!

PICK YOUR OWN FLOWER UPDATE!

Our fields have been bursting with dahlias this week, but unfortunately we might be getting a frost Tuesday into Wednesday, which would mean an end to pick your own. If you have been wanting to cut flowers, and haven’t had a chance, now is the time!

If you are going through the flower building at the Topsfield Fair, be sure to see the 98 stem dahlia display that Alice and Annie put together this year. I guess we need two more vases next year for 100. Believe it or not, this is only a 1/3 of the varieties we have in the field.

Alice does so much to go from a dormant tuber in our basement, planting, pruning, staking, to designing the bouquets in our farmstand, and now this meticulously curated display!

Why don’t you have flowers for sale today? Is pick your own open?

Great question! We don’t cut flowers in the rain or when they are wet, because too much moisture on a bloom (especially dahlias) can cause mold, petal bruising, and rot, making them decline faster than normal.

We’ve been getting quite a bit of moisture in the past few days, so as soon as they dry out, we will be back to cutting, and opening the pic your own patch.
