DFCX 2023 Race Communication: PLEASE NOTE RACE SCHEDULE CHANGE. Share and tell you friends who are racing.

Strap down your porto potties and take a read of this!

It has been an incredible feat to say the least… The ability to assemble DFCX board of directors, advisory committees of DFCX and diplomats who tend to give the best advise all within the last 36 hours to bring the brightest minds together and be able to reveal what should be known as the greatest pre race adjustment ever. Here it is.

Please read entire note. **** RACE times have changed because we are working around the high wind and rain threads from the hurricane. High winds often render this area without power. The race can still go on without power.

We are rolling with the wind threats and plan to take the best action we can to provide a fun quality event/ race for you.

1, Heck ya we will still have Pizza and B**R!!! There will be New Custom DFCX cups from Kleen Kanteen!
Previous years we offered bottomless b**r for $20. This year we’re going one better! We are trying to make everything easier with a bottomless b**r and pizza wristband for $30. Packed with value since our new 16oz Kleen Kanteen cups are $10 (limited quantity available).

2. Heck ya we still have timing!

3. Don’t forget to pick up your DFCX tee shirt, and Bivo water bottles. It’s a sizable up font investment and massive undertaking to put on this event. Please consider buying a shirt and bottle to help float the expenses of putting on a race. Special event discount for the Bivo bottles so don’t wait on that.

(lots of tires on sale and super comfy form fitting DFCX kits)

Race/event weekend recap,

Could not have asked for a better couple of events, ton of fun!!!

Saturday was the Black River Grand Prix hosted by Craftsbury Outdoor Center, in Craftsbury, VT. Seriously the best XC course I have ever raced on. It has a little bit of everything (safe start, flowing machine built, punchy climbs, natural tech, gravel section, wicked fast ski trail) and and the duration of each style is timed perfectly before switching to the next style. An additional benefit to hosting XC at a world class nordic facility/biathlon center is that COC has cabins and rooms to rent for the weekend.

The 2024 version is already up on Bike Reg. 6/8/24

Sunday was a hop over to the Ranger in Tunbridge, VT. WOW, do the know how to put on an amazing event! But similar to Craftsbury it was the course that really made me love dirt. We arrived about 40 minutes before the role out start around the fairgrounds. Wearing my spiffy DFCX kit I saw many familiar faces from the CX community, and rode with friends from before and new the entire way. I tried my best to be a riding “billboard” advertisement for DFCX and DFG but that wasn't aero… The venue, and quiet g-roads all held the 600+/- participants safely. I hope they return for 2024 and you should keep an eye out for this back to back weekend in VT.

Up coming events:

I'm all about helping other races succeed by asking the gravel and CX community to reach out to new networks of people. Hank Pfeifle is a good friend of mine from Maine and puts in countless hours organizing DownEast Racing, a spring Crit series and lots more. Right now Hank's focus is Rumford Gravel and it's right on par with the weekend I just experienced. Hosted at Black Mtn of Maine, (which is family resort striving to keep skiing affordable) it is the prefect venue to launch two amazing courses. It's close to the amenities of Bethel/ Sunday River and the amazing lift serve Bike Park at Mt. Abram in Maine. And with LL Bean as a title sponsor, who knows maybe there will be some iconic “Bean Boots”up for grabs. Mark you calendar and register 6/24/23

Lastly, keep those calendars locked for Deer Farm CX (the cow version)? and Down For Gravel September 16th and 17th.
