Many of you already know and love our in-house rendered beef cooking tallow. Now we’re excited to introduce our newest addition: in-house rendered leaf lard!

✨ Locally sourced and rendered right here at S&S Packing—ready for your kitchen!

The same care, attention to detail, and high standards you get from our cooking tallow—with a whole new range of delicious possibilities!

Rendered leaf lard shares many of the same qualities and cooking uses as tallow but has a lower smoke point. While tallow lends itself to higher-heat cooking, leaf lard’s mild, delicate flavor makes it especially prized for tender pastries and beautifully flaky pie crusts!

Long before vegetable shortening became common, lard was the trusted choice for pie crusts, biscuits, and pastries. Bring that tradition back to your kitchen, along with the flavor and simplicity of a single ingredient, by using our leaf lard in place of vegetable shortening in your favorite recipes!

Our in-house rendered leaf lard is made exclusively from carefully selected leaf fat—a naturally pure, soft pork fat—trimmed and thoughtfully rendered right here at S&S Packing.
