Desided to change it up last night and go to a Comedy Show at a Local Restaurant, Dina's Bistro, Rt 37, Toms River. I've been there several times prior, always very good, but I gotta tell ya. My Dish last night was Simply Amazing. Lobster Scampi! It was on the menu with potatoes and vegetables. I saw they had Lobster Risotto on the menu and asked if they could swap it out. Well our very attentive also very handsome server, my friend Eddie Testa son Giovanni Testa said No Problem at all. It was Off the Charts. The Lobster was crisp and tender, the sauce was tasty as F$ . Certainly an Off the Charts Dish. OOOFFFHHHAAAAA BABY!!!
Even our appi was Amazing. Went with Oysters Rockefeller that I have very often and I'd definitely put Dinas in my Top Ten. We shared these both dishes with a fine bottle of Santaleila Amarone.
With that said, Dinas Bistro gets the Max, 5 Thumbs Up From "Picas Pics" 👍👍👍👍👍
The icing on the cake was the Comedy Show, hosted by my Great Friend Steve Trevelise . Comics Dena Blizzard and Chris Monty had us Rolling all night. You know, sometimes ya go to these Restaurant Comedy Shows and the comedians suck. Well not last night, they were exceptionally funny.
So looking forward the their next show on May 1st, again Hosted by the Hilarious Steve Trevelise. Coincidentally the Comic entertaining us next show is another good friend, Jersey Citys own Mike Marino.
Make your resorvations now folks its gonna be another Off the Charts Show.

What an Awesome Night. First an Off the Chart Dinner at the Iconic Highlawn, before we headed off to Mary Belle DeBellis Gatehouse Reunion, an Epic event I've been attending for years.
I haven't been to the Highlawn for dinner in over 30 years. We walk in and standing there greating us at the door is an old friend I met many years ago. If you've ever been to Rascals Comedy Club you'll remember Daniel McKenna now the Maitre d'hotel at the Highlawn, formally the Highland Pavilion, West Orange. Dan certainly made the night memorable. First by giving us a special table with breathtaking views, reminiscing over conversation, and sending out the most Fabulous desert, Pistachio Creme Brulee.
I hate to put the cart before the horse so now on to dinner.
For apps we had the Tuna Tartare, fresh as could be with Avocado Cream, Tomato Basil Relish. Our second app was as an extremely tender Slab of Cured Grilled Bacon.
For our Entrrees we did the Lamb Chops, very think cut with exceptional taste and a 16oz Prime Bone in Ribeye, chard to perfection. And of course, I had to go with a side of Parmesan Truffle Fries! Last, we can't forget a nice bottle of Argiano Rosso di Montalcino with our apps and a Castello di Argiano Sesti Brunello with our mains.
Yep, a Big OOOFFFHHHAAAAA, a perfect dining experience, a great host, along with Spectacular Views of the City.
The Highlawn, West Orange deserves the Max by far, 5 Thumbs up from "Picas Pics" 👍👍👍👍👍

"Picas Pics"
So I love a good Prime Rib every now and then. In conversation, talking food at my shop with a customer now friend, she referred me to this Joint in Hoboken called Court St Restaurant and Bar. She said they have Prime Rib Mondays. Being in the mood, and it being a Monday I figured I'd give it a go. Those that know, know that it's almost impossible to get a parking spot in Hoboken. Well lucky enough, I was able to get a spot directly across the street. Its a Beautiful refurbished Brick Building off the corner of an alley that I believe is Court St. The actual entrance is on 6th. Its in Hoboken NJ.
Walking into the place you get this immediate feeling of old school. Though you knew it was newly renovated it still gave off that old school vibe. I sat at the bar as I always do and met Bubba, the bartender. One hell of a guy. A little chit chat and off to the ordering.
I started with a spectacular appi, Grilled Chirozo and Shrimp, Caramelized Onions, in a very tasty white wine and butter sauce, Excellent!!!!
Then was offered a House Salad that came with the meal, but I requested to have it last. Just the way my family did at dinner growing up back in the day.
Then it came, a perfectly cooked, charrred and crispy outer edges, medium rare, Amazing cut of Prime Rid, marbleized, with the perfect amount of fat, lying in its lightly salted juices, yepper, a tad of horseradish and I was Spent!. OOOFFFHHHAAAAA Baby, one of the Best I've ever had, though there was one, another time, just as good 😉... Anyway this was one hell of a plate. It was offered with a side of mash but I opt to go with sautéed spinach, garlic and oil of course. Then on to the last inning, my salad, it was an extraordinary finish. Cos lettuce, cherry tomatoes, onions, Cucumbers, carrots, red peppers, in their off the charts house dressing.
Oh yes Folks, I've been WOWED once again.
With all that said, This Hoboken Eatery, Court Street Restaurant and Bar, gets the Max From "Picas Pics" 5 Thumbs Up!!! 👍👍👍👍👍
