Hi there! It is Wednesday, March 7, 2018. I want to share a funny story with you as I had to go to the grocery store yesterday so I went to Fairhaven and I went to Shaws FYI the veggies looked good there fruit was good, I love the cashier especially because she showed me pictures of her corgis. But here’s the real deal as I was trying to think of what we wanted for dinner now mind you we have beef and pork in our freezer and I’m looking at the beef and I’m looking at the pork just to see what the prices are and I’m wondering to myself what are we not sharing with you to prevent you from calling us and buying beef from us? Many think that all natural grass fed beef is not good it is how you cook it and prepare it and it is so easy and so much better for you than what I saw inside the store. I then checked out the chicken, I do like chicken and usually make a chicken Caesar salad or something in the lines of healthy. I was standing there when two other women who were also discussing what they were going to have for dinner and that’s three customers two of the women and myself and we’re looking at the meats and honestly they were not appealing at all... it wasn’t necessarily the price, the topic was where does it come from. I decided not to buy any chicken and as I was walking away the other two women did not buy either. In addition I went into the vegetable aisle this lady made a comment that she did not want to buy a tomato from Mexico now I went to San Diego last week and had an awesome time and you know something I’m OK with buying tomatoes from Mexico I’m OK with buying some fruits and vegetables that we cannot grow in Vermont or New York I get that but to have such a biased attitude when she goes to the meat section and then buys meat that comes from Canada or elsewhere and not from a local area doesn’t she realize that this is what the problem is? Lastly when I conclude this post I would like to say thank you to all who do purchase from our farm we do have some smaller cows that are ready to butcher they are awesome! they’ve been raised humanely we care about our critters as you know and at the end of the day I would rather pay that extra $.25-$.50 for ours because we do have to pay the processing etc. but I know where it came from and I know how I fed them. If you are interested in our beef products please give us a call 802-645-0398 presently we have stew beef and burger unfortunately we are out of steaks however we do have some beautiful cows that are ready to go and the price is very reasonable.
Have a great week enjoy the snow and remember where you get your food and when you put it on your table...thanks for shopping local! 🐂💕👍
