Fullblood kids born this morning. A nontraditional buck and a doe. Always interesting to see what happens when you use older genetics.

DS Athena (fullblood) had a buck and a doe this morning. She milks like a Holstein cow, so these two should grow out great. One more doe to go, and 2024 kidding season will be in the books.

Available: Proven Boer doe exposed to Savanna buck for spring kidding. Don’t mind the winter coat, this is a meaty, deep bodied doe with an excellent brisket.

Now to see what the next couple of weeks bring for the does due the first part of February.

We have a new kidding temp low. 3DS FIONA kidded last night in 0 degrees with a feel like of -17. She kept her kid (a buck) alive long enough for us to find her and give the kid some supportive care. He’ll probably lose the tips of his ears, but other than that, he should be fine.

This buckling is showing some promise. Long as a freight train and stocky as a Charolais bull. If that pigment keeps coming in good, he’ll be a home run!
