🐰 Looking for a New Home for Pickles 🐰

This sweet girl is searching for a family of her own.

Meet Pickles!
• Loves people, attention, and being part of the family
• Enjoys other pets
• Loves free roaming and spending supervised time outdoors
• Used to living indoors and being spoiled
• Litter box trained (though she still likes to leave her mark occasionally!)
• Loves cardboard houses, toys, and treats
• Has been professionally groomed and requires regular grooming
• Intact female

Pickles has never been a bunny that simply sits in a cage. She thrives on interaction and would do best with someone who has plenty of time, love, and attention to give.

She will come with lots of her favorite belongings for the right family.

If you think you might be a good fit for Pickles, please send a message for more information. Please share to help this sweet girl find her perfect forever home. ❤️🐰

🌱 The fields are growing again.

The last week has been a blur. We’ve spent time grieving, celebrating Grandpa’s life, sharing stories, and trying to find our footing again without one of the people who helped build the foundation of this farm and our family.

In the middle of all of that, planting season quietly came to an end.

Every vegetable, flower, sunflower, pumpkin, and seed we planned for this season is finally in the ground.

Now comes the less glamorous part of farming—hours of weeding, mulching, watering, staking, and preparing for everything that’s right around the corner.

We’re getting ready for:

🌻 The first West Point Farmers Market of the season
📅 Sunday, June 7 | 9 AM–12 PM

🌸 Love Lee County Tour
📅 June 12th & 13th | 10 AM–5 PM
📍 Wendland Family Farm

The farm stand will be stocked again soon, and I’ll be sure to post updates when fresh bouquets become available.

These bouquets were created for Grandpa’s service— made with flowers grown here on the farm he loved so much.

Thank you for the prayers, messages, hugs, and kindness you’ve shown our family. They have meant more than you’ll ever know.

For now, we’re putting one foot in front of the other, tending the fields, and growing forward. ❤️

Friends,

For the rest of this week and weekend, our farm stand will not be restocked.

There are still a few bouquets left at the stand, but once those are gone, that will be all for now.

We recently lost my grandpa — Papa Gale — and right now our family is taking time to slow down and honor a man who meant everything to us.

The farm feels different this week.

Heavy.
Quiet.
Almost like part of its heartbeat is missing.

Everywhere I look, there’s a piece of him.
In the fields.
In the tractors.
In the gravel roads.
In the stories attached to every corner of this place.

Flowers are usually how I share joy and love with this community. But right now, my heart just needs a little time to grieve the man who taught me to love this life in the first place.

Thank you for every prayer, kind message, hug, and bit of grace you’ve shown our family these last couple of days.

Hold your people a little closer tonight. ❤️

Good morning from the farm! 🌸

The stand is freshly stocked this morning with the very last of our peonies mixed with ranunculus and other late spring blooms from the farm.

There’s just something special about this week of the year — the last week of school, the start of summer routines, and little moments worth celebrating. So this week we tucked everything into mason jars to make them easy to gift, easy to enjoy, and easy to grab on your way through town. Perfect for teachers, bus drivers, secretaries, graduates, a friend who needs a pick me up… or honestly just your own kitchen table. 💛

Available at the in-town stand this morning:
• Small mason jars — $15
• Large mason jars — $30

Thank you for supporting our little family farm through another season of flowers. Watching these blooms leave the farm and become part of your celebrations, thank-yous, and everyday moments never gets old. 🌸

Pumpkin Patch 2026 is planted! 🎃🌾

And whew… that one earned every blister on my hands.

Last fall, I seeded this patch down in rye. This spring terminated it, rolled it down, fertilized, and today I walked the entire patch planting seed by seed — hoping this little experiment helps us naturally suppress weeds and build healthier soil along the way.

As I planted, I kept thinking about Johnny Appleseed.

There’s something almost forgotten about carrying a seed satchel through a field with dirt on your boots and hope in your hands. No fancy equipment. No shortcuts. Just walking row after row, making little holes in the earth and trusting something beautiful will come from it months later.

Today this patch may just look like rolled rye and bare ground.

But underneath it are dreams of fall.

Tiny pumpkin hands.
Families picking out “the perfect one.”
Kids loading gourds into wagons.
Front porch pumpkins.
Jack-o-lanterns.
Decorative corn bundles.
Watermelons split open at summer picnics.
The smell of autumn.

This patch is full of cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelon, squash, gourds, pie pumpkins, decorative corn, mini pumpkins, specialty pumpkins, and carving pumpkins — all tucked into the soil one seed at a time today.

Farming is strange that way.
You work for months for something you cannot yet see.

But that’s the beauty of it too. 🤍🌱
