We are feeling extra grateful at JASCO Farm this week. 🌞

This stretch of spring-like weather has been such a gift after a long winter, and we decided not to waste a single ray of sunshine. Jonathan and I spent the afternoon outside getting our hands dirty and planting 11 new trees we ordered from Ty Ty Plant Nursery down in Georgia.

There’s something pretty special about putting trees in the ground. It’s a little bit of work, a lot of hope, and a promise to the future all wrapped into one afternoon. 🌱

Jonathan was an excellent helper (as usual), and together we got every one of them tucked into their new home here at the farm. We worked so hard, we even broke a shovel! R.I.P. Shovel!

Here’s to warm sunshine, muddy boots, and growing good things. We’re thankful for days like today. 🌳

Today delivered that golden, soul-filling sunshine that reminds me why I chose this life in the first place. 🩷 I had four solid hours of “therapy” right in the orchard — pruning, spraying, walking the rows, and soaking up every bit of that mid-day warmth.

Fresh warm air, budding branches, and a little honest work… cheaper than counseling and way better scenery. 🌳✨

Days like this make the sore muscles worth it. Thankful for the sunshine, the trees, and the chance to tend them.

Today was a glimpse into the Spring season, and we at JASCO Farm are here for it! 🍎🍑🍐🍒

The JASCO orchard would like to formally complain about this weather. ❄️😅

That said, there’s something pretty special about seeing the farm wrapped up in snow and ice — quiet, still, and beautiful in its own way.

Rest now, friends. Spring will come… eventually! 🌱❄️

🌞🌾 **High Heat Impacting Our Farm** 🌾🌞

We wanted to share an update about how the recent high temperatures and lack of rain in our area have been affecting our farm. The extreme heat has significantly impacted the activity of our vital pollinators, such as bees and butterflies. As a result, we've seen a lower fruit yield than we were expecting.

Pollinators play a crucial role in the growth and productivity of our crops, and without their hard work, many of our plants haven't been able to produce the amount of fruit we were hoping for. This isn't just a challenge for us but for many farmers and gardeners in the region.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we navigate these tough conditions. We're doing everything we can to protect our plants and provide you with a more “fruitful” crop in the future.

It's been a few days since I last heard the comforting sounds of hooves on the ground and the gentle lowing of my cows on the farm. Their absence leaves an emptiness in the fields and in my heart. I find myself longing for their presence and their warm “welcome home” greeting. The farm just isn't the same without them. Missing my beloved boys dearly. 🌾💔

Today is a tough day. Saying goodbye to our beloved Beefus and Butthead as we send them off to greener pastures. They've been more than just livestock; they've been a part of our family, each with their own personality and quirks. But circumstances change, and we have to make difficult decisions for their well-being. Wishing them all the happiness in their new home, but my heart aches knowing they won't be grazing in our fields anymore. 💔🐮🐮

To be given a dandelion by a child is to be thought of.

That child paused for you.
They saw the bright yellow & thought of you.
They took the time to pluck it for you.
They beam as they hand it to you.

The thought crossed their mind that this flower would make you happy.

& they did all of that because they love you.

What a beautiful gift to be given a dandelion.

Jonathan helped me plant the eight trees I bought on Friday at Patuxent Nursery in these heavy winds today - and we had a little fun with it, too! We are officially at 80 fruit trees in the orchard. Four more and the grid will be complete!!
