Looks Like a Cucumber. Tastes Like a Cucumber. Is Secretly a Melon.

Farmer Kyle has been pulling endless pounds of Armenian cucumbers (the “zucchini” of the melon family) from our no-till beds and they are fresh on the Mobile Farmers Market truck!

Fun fact: it’s technically a muskmelon — thin, ribbed, light green skin, mild and slightly sweet inside. Small ones are perfect for salads; bigger ones peel and seed nicely for dips or cooked dishes.

Find the truck and find the cucumber-that’s-not-a-cucumber.

Check out a full list of where the truck will be at followthetomato.org.

Intern Spotlight 2026: Evelyn

My name is Evelyn Fuentes and I go to Sac State. I’m majoring in Environmental Studies

I got interested in applying for the Riverfront farm internship because I wanted to expand my plant knowledge. With this experience I want to gain more knowledge on plant growth and care to work as a researcher for plants or agriculture.

As a nature person I often spend my free time in the outdoors like fishing, hiking, and hunting. I also like to garden where I grow my own produce at home. I also enjoy baking and playing video games.
