October's our food drive month again.

All month long (Oct 1–31), we're working with the Hunger Task Force of La Crosse to help families in our own town drop off some groceries they might not otherwise have. We'll have a box out at our shop in West Salem, and you can bring anything from a can of soup to a case of peanut butter.

What we're collecting: peanut butter, canned meats and fruits, soups, pasta, sauce.

It doesn't have to be much. But when the whole town chips in, it adds up fast.

Drop off your donations at W3032 County Rd B, West Salem, WI 54669 β€” any time during October.

Thanks for helping us look after our neighbors. πŸ₯«

Water treatment should not feel like a mystery.

A water softener, filtration system, iron eliminator, or other treatment equipment can be a major part of your homeβ€”but homeowners deserve to understand what each unit does, why it is there, and how it works together to support better water quality.

Swipe through this carousel to see why education is part of the Maxwell-White Water Conditioning approach.

πŸ’§ Start with your water. Every home and water source is different. A professional evaluation helps identify the conditions that matter before recommending equipment.

πŸ” Know what each unit does. Your system may include separate components that address different water concerns. We take time to explain each unit’s role instead of leaving you with unanswered questions.

βš™οΈ Get a system matched to your home. Water treatment equipment should be sized and selected around your actual water conditions and household needsβ€”not based on a one-size-fits-all solution.

πŸ› οΈ Understand ongoing care. Knowing how your equipment works makes it easier to maintain and get the most from your water-treatment system.

As one Maxwell-White customer shared, understanding the role each unit plays was helpful in maintaining good water quality. No guessing. Just answers.

If you have questions about your current water-treatment equipmentβ€”or are ready to find out what is in your waterβ€”call or text 608-781-8088 or visit lacrossewaterpros.com.

Proudly serving West Salem, La Crosse, Onalaska, Holmen, La Crosse County, and the surrounding Coulee Region.

Do your white sinks, toilet bowls, shower walls, or laundry keep picking up orange or rust-colored stains?

That buildup is often a sign that iron is present in the waterβ€”but the right solution depends on what is actually coming from your well. Water chemistry varies from home to home, so guessing at a filter or treatment system can lead to disappointing results.

Swipe through to see how Maxwell-White Water Conditioning helps homeowners identify and treat iron-related water problems.

🟠 Watch for the clues: Orange staining, rusty-looking water, metallic taste, and buildup on fixtures can all point to an iron issue.

πŸ’§ Start with the water: Testing helps identify the condition of your water and guides the treatment recommendation for your home.

βš™οΈ See how iron elimination works: An iron eliminator can use an oxidizing media bed to convert dissolved iron into particles that can be filtered from the water.

🏑 Get a system that fits: The right treatment setup should be based on your home’s water conditions, usage, and the type and level of iron presentβ€”not a one-size-fits-all guess.

If iron stains are becoming part of your weekly cleaning routine, let’s find out what is in your water. No guessing. Just answers.

If you deal with dry skin, dull hair, or a distinct swimming pool smell every time you shower, your municipal water supply might be the culprit. While chlorine is essential for municipal water safety, living with it in your daily shower and drinking tap can be tough on your hair, skin, and plumbing fixtures.

Many homeowners think they need two separate, bulky units to treat both mineral hardness and residual chlorine. A dual-media water softener solves both problems inside one efficient system, giving your home cleaner, gentler water from every tap.

Here is how a dual-media system upgrades your household water:

πŸ’§ Chlorine reduction removes the chemical taste, harsh odor, and drying effects before water reaches your shower head.

🧼 Softened water eliminates stubborn mineral scale from sinks, glass doors, and water-using appliances.

🚿 Healthier-feeling skin and softer hair without needing expensive bottled shower filters.

🏑 Compact installation delivers two-in-one treatment without taking up unnecessary basement space.

Every household is unique, which is why proper equipment sizing depends on your daily usage and local incoming supply. No guessing. Just answers. Start with a professional water evaluation so we can help you understand what is in your water.

Call or text 608-781-8088, or visit lacrossewaterpros.com to set up your water analysis. We proudly serve West Salem, La Crosse, Onalaska, Holmen, and surrounding communities throughout the Coulee Region.

Your water softener protects your home. A reverse osmosis system helps protect the people in it. πŸ’§

If your household uses private well water β€” or if you simply want better-tasting water right from the kitchen tap β€” reverse osmosis may be the solution you have been looking for.

In this video, Bennett explains what a Reverse Osmosis (RO) system does and why it matters for homes throughout the Coulee Region.

Here’s the simple version:

πŸ’§ It provides bottled-water quality at your tap. An RO system creates a dedicated faucet for clean drinking and cooking water, without constantly buying cases of bottled water.
youtube

πŸ›‘οΈ It targets what other systems may not. Even if you already have a softener, well water can still contain nitrates, arsenic, lead, high total dissolved solids, and other contaminants that affect water quality and taste.
youtube

βš™οΈ It uses multi-stage filtration. Prefilters capture sediment and chlorine, a fine membrane blocks many dissolved contaminants, and a final filter polishes the water for a crisp, fresh taste.
youtube

πŸ”§ It is built for the long run. The professionally installed Microline systems we use can last 5–10 years or longer, with routine filter changes every 6–12 months and a membrane that typically lasts 2–5 years, depending on water quality.
youtube

βœ… Professional quality makes a difference. Dealer-grade systems use higher-quality fittings, tubing, and membranes designed for reliable performance β€” not just a temporary DIY fix under your sink.
youtube

Some water-quality issues are invisible. A professional water evaluation helps you understand what is actually in your water and whether RO is a good fit for your home.

Your water conditioning system works hard every single day β€” quietly protecting your home, your pipes, your appliances, and your family's water. But like anything that works that hard, it needs a little attention to keep performing at its best. πŸ’§

Here in La Crosse, Onalaska, and across the Coulee Region, our limestone aquifers mean hard water is a daily reality β€” and a well-maintained system is what stands between you and spotty dishes, scale buildup, dry skin, and early appliance failure.

Here's why regular attention matters πŸ‘‡

βš™οΈ Peak Performance β€” Settings drift and media wears over time. A dialed-in system uses less salt, less water, and delivers consistently soft water.

πŸ§‚ Salt & Settings β€” Incorrect salt levels or programming can quietly cost you money and shorten your system's life.

πŸ”§ Catch Small Issues Early β€” A quick check now can prevent an expensive repair β€” or replacement β€” later.

πŸ’§ Better Water, Every Day β€” Cleaner dishes, softer skin and hair, brighter laundry, and appliances that last longer.

Orange stains in your tub. Rusty streaks on your white laundry. Coffee that tastes… off. If any of that sounds familiar, iron in your well water is the likely culprit.

Here in La Crosse County β€” and across communities like West Salem, Holmen, Sparta, and Westby β€” many homes pull water through iron-rich soil and bedrock. As rain and snowmelt move through the ground, iron dissolves right into the water headed for your tap.

Here's what iron does to your home πŸ‘‡

🟠 Staining β€” Orange, brown, or yellow discoloration in sinks, tubs, and toilets, plus rust stains on light-colored clothing.

β˜• Taste β€” A metallic or bitter taste that shows up in your coffee, tea, and drinking water.

πŸ’§ Cloudy Water β€” Visible particles floating in glasses and pitchers.

πŸ”§ Hidden Buildup β€” Iron accumulates inside your plumbing, valves, and water-using appliances, shortening their lifespan.

Here's the part most homeowners don't realize: if you have a real iron problem, basic filtration or a standard softener usually isn't enough. That's exactly why dedicated iron eliminator systems exist.

Our trained technicians design and install equipment that targets iron at the source β€” from older farmhouses in West Salem to newer builds in Holmen. And it always starts with testing your water so we match the right system to what you're actually dealing with.

Blue-green stains in your sink or tub? Mysterious pinhole leaks in your copper pipes? Your water might be quietly eating your plumbing from the inside out.

That's what acidic β€” or low pH β€” water does. And it's more common than most La Crosse area well owners realize.
lacrossewaterpros

In this video, our team explains how acid neutralizers work and why they matter πŸ‘‡

πŸ”΅ The Warning Signs β€” Blue or green staining in tubs, sinks, and toilets. Bitter or metallic-tasting water. Unexplained pinhole leaks. Fixtures that keep failing early.
lacrossewaterpros

βš—οΈ What's Actually Happening β€” Water with a pH below 7 is aggressive. It slowly dissolves copper, brass, and galvanized plumbing, releasing those metals into your water and thinning your pipes until leaks appear.
lacrossewaterpros
+1

πŸ›‘οΈ How an Acid Neutralizer Fixes It β€” The system uses filtration media with a higher pH that slowly dissolves into your water as it passes through. Once the pH is balanced, the acidity is neutralized and the corrosion stops.
lacrossewaterpros

πŸ’§ Whole-Home Protection β€” Maxwell-White installs the Windsor Series acid neutralizer from Capital, designed specifically to reduce the corrosive tendencies of low-pH water. Properly sized and installed at the point where water enters your home.

The cost of ignoring it? Corroded pipes, a shortened water heater lifespan, damaged dishwashers and washing machines, and eventually a re-piping bill.

Don't wait for the leaks. Start with a water test β€” we'll tell you exactly what's going on.
