All grain is Non-GMO, and corn/hay is raised right here on our farm, just south of the small town of Congress, OH. We are currently transitioning our 450 acre Family Farm to Certified Organic production (three year process), so no chemical products are used on any of our soil or crops. As part of the Certified Organic Production transition, we will be fencing in our crop acreage to be able to inte
grate Grazing Livestock into our crop rotation. Grazing Livestock on our crop ground completes the Life Cycle of the soil, which allows the grazing animals to create the fertility required to grow the crops. The cover crops, or pastures, that the livestock graze will feed the livestock, the livestock convert the forage to fertility that feeds the soil, and the soil feeds the crops. This Perfect Circle increases Carbon and Organic Matter in the soil, improves the Water Cycle, increases Water Holding Capacity, lowers our purchased input requirements, lowers labor requirements, and increases the Farm's profitability. We are currently only raising Beef Cattle on our Farm, but we are planning to add other livestock to help increase our Farm's diversity, in the future. Diversity in the crops we produce, and the livestock we raise, allows each type of crop and livestock to fit a certain niche, and keep all of the Farm working at ideal capacity. We have an "Open Door" Policy, which allows you to come see how our livestock and crops are raised whenever you would like.
