Wow. Almost a ‘wrap’ here &, as always, bittersweet. Got the second plot tilled and cover crop seed down. Here’s a look from just about beginning to end. Still have lots of incredible parsley, carrot and lemongrass in, under some nifty heavy row cover.

ALASKA EMERGENCY — Massive Flooding After Typhoon Halong

Western Alaska is facing catastrophic flooding after the remnants of Typhoon Halong slammed into the coast, destroying homes and displacing families.

⚠️ Floodwaters have risen up to 6 feet above normal high tide, fueled by hurricane-force winds reaching 100 mph (160 km/h). Entire villages remain isolated as rescue teams race to reach those trapped by the storm surge.

🚨 Dozens have been rescued — 18 people in Kwigillingok and 16 in Kipnuk — but at least three remain missing as the search continues.
A Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect through Monday across much of western Alaska.

Communities are struggling with power outages, damaged infrastructure, and limited communication as emergency crews work tirelessly to bring relief.

This time of year is always so bittersweet. Final harvests and clearing so that cover crop seed can be put down to make room for new growth. The clearing of what was for what is to come 🫶🏽

The good, the bad, the beautiful! 🤣 so glad I decided to feed the peppers tonight - found a hornworm to at had made a meal of a jalapeno plant! Lemon sunflowers and zinnia have started to pop and peppers & tomatoes, too! I have lots of thai and cinnamon basil & parsley and got 3 pounds of shish*to peppers today so message me if you can use any 😁

Almost around the corner - that time of year when I spend more time harvesting than cultivating and weeding 😁💃🏽 Have a whole row of sunflowers this year and they’re just starting to bloom.
