We wanted to share a timely update about alkaline water and some of the health claims often associated with it.
Recent reporting from Fox News noted that alkaline water health claims are being questioned, with experts saying the science remains uncertain. Major medical sources have reached similar conclusions. Mayo Clinic states that alkaline water is not better than plain water for most people, and that more research is needed to determine whether any possible benefits continue over the long term. Harvard Health also notes that there is no evidence to support choosing alkaline water over safe tap water or regular bottled water.
A recent review published in Frontiers in Medicine reached a similar conclusion: alkaline water may have limited, context-specific uses, but claims around systemic alkalizing, anti-aging, immunity, and disease prevention are not supported by strong clinical evidence. The review also emphasized that better long-term studies are needed before alkaline water can be recommended as a health intervention.
At John Ellis Water, we believe in transparency and evidence-based wellness. Hydration matters, but customers should be cautious of exaggerated claims suggesting that alkaline water provides proven long-term health benefits.
