You may be wondering why we did not share our weekly sales items on our social media pages this week. It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Katie Jones, one of our longest lasting, and most beloved colleagues, who passed away yesterday after a courageous battle with cancer.

Katie was a true pillar of our organization. Throughout her several decades with us, she exemplified dedication, a great work ethic, and an innovative spirit that transformed our deli into what it is today. She was a great teacher and mentor to the scores of young employees that have come through Casey’s, where she stressed the importance of good customer service skills, while establishing good work ethic. Whether someone worked here for years, or just a couple months over summer break, Katie always made sure that they were welcome and learning the ins and outs of the deli.

We will miss her presence, kindness, and keen sense of humor. Please remember Katie and her loved ones in your thoughts & prayers. We will share any updates to possible arrangements on our page here. Feel free to share any memories of Katie here in the comments.

Happy Thursday! Fall is in full swing and not only do we have a superb Chicago Football Team, but we have some exciting Chicago Baseball going on as well!
