Happy National Dairy Month! We finished up the first cutting of hay, the cows figured out the rotary, and we have a lot to appreciate. Hopefully you can SHOP around for all of your favorite dairy products!

Last week, all of the cows were milked on our new rotary parlor! In a bittersweet moment, we shut the lights off in the old parallel parlor on Saturday. There are many people and companies to thank for making this project possible.

First, thank you to all of our employees. They dealt with construction, change, learning a whole new system, and much more. We are so thankful for everyone that continues to show up and work hard. We could not do this without all of you.

Next, we are also grateful for the people that came to encourage cows to get on the rotary. Having so many people show up for us meant a lot to us.

This is an exciting week for Slowey Farms-we are adding to the history of the farm!

The first parlor at the farm was put in by father and son: Bob (2nd generation) and Tim (3rd generation) around 1969. This parlor was milking 100 cows.

In 2001, Tim and Alby (4th generation) worked together to get our current parlor built and running. At this time, the farm was milking 380 cows.

Now, Alby and Alex (5th generation) are starting the rotary parlor to milk 1,700 cows. 3 years of planning and 1 year of construction has come together with a beautiful new building and some cool technology.
