New storage battery and charge controller installed to replace the lighting damaged ones... Pasture Camera is back up and all appears good again.

Pasture Cam solar panels were struck by lightning a few days ago. It will be down for a week or two while I wait for replacement parts to arrive.

poo season is over... it's all gone.

Pasture camera is down for a while. The days are so short that the solar panels cant keep the battery charged. I will turn it back on sometime in February.

free llamapoo fertilizer season starts soon... a couple of weeks maybe it the piles will be thawed.

another couple of weeks and the snow should be cleared for good off the llama-cam's solar panels and it will be back up and running for the warm weather.

Well, it's been an interesting Spring and first part of summer... Normally the llamas would have been in the big pasture since Memorial Day. However, this year the weather has been so great for growing grass that they have been in the little pasture near the house up until today.

However, the grass in the little pasture is finally whittled down to stubble. We moved them out into the big pasture this afternoon. The big pasture is where the "llamacam" is...

Pasture cam is down for a couple months I think. The sun simply isn't shining, so the deep cycle batteries are somewhat discharged. I am afraid the batteries will freeze if I run the camera regularly. The llamas are out of the big pasture anyway, so there isn't much to see except for possible the pack of coyotes that seem to visit it every other night or so,

llamas are back out in the big pasture for a couple of days, enjoying the nice weather while it lasts. The camera is up and running thanks to the appearance of Mr Sun.

llamacam solar power source frustrating me... no sun... no power... it has only been sunny 2 days in the last 30. I added more solar panels but with no sun it isn't going to help... 7 day forcast is "no sun" :-(
