So tonight starting at 5pm is the Carroll County 4H Livestock Sale !! All Of the exhibitors have worked so hard all year on their livestock projects. ๐๐. Kalie is selling her Maintainer market steer (1,135lb), Emma is selling her Angus Cross market steer (1,288lb) that was born on our farm and her market Durock pig (276lb). ๐ฎ๐ฎ๐ท They will be using the money they make to buy their animals for next year. 4H has been such a positive experience for my kids teaching them responsibly, teamwork, grit, determination and the meaning of hard work! They have made wonderful friends over the years and they/their families have become part of your family. โค๏ธโค๏ธ Thank you to everyone that has been able to come out this week to not only support my kids but all 4H exhibitors. While fair week is exhausting I could not imagine my week any other way! I will attach the Livestock letter and buyer information. If you or anyone you know would be interested the kids would greatly appreciate it!
You can bid at www.cowbuyer.com. It will say Carroll County 4H Fair. You can register and place your bid. Kalie is #167. Emma is #206 and 245. Animals can be donated back to 4H then be sold. The money can then be donated to the charity of your choice.
On a side note Kolinโs Durock pig was 6lb to heavy (296) to sell at the sale ๐ข. We have a 1/2 of his available and Kalieโs Berkshire hog made weight to sell (239) but did not gain enough daily to sell. We use Stoney Point Farm Market in Littlestown for processing. We charge $3.25/lb on the hanging weight plus processing. It comes out to approximately $300-$350 for a half a hog. We have processing dates for these hogs 8/10. We will absolutely help you with deciding how you want your hog processed if you have never done this before!! We understand this is short notice and will have pork available by the half and whole in the fall if that works better for you. Thank you for reading this long post and for your support! โค๏ธ. Message me if you have any question or you can call too ๐
