While we were at mom and dads, we cooked some of our nutrient dense organic vegetables and a chuck roast in the Sous Vide f(or 24 hours - talk about tender)
Folks, as a kid, I cringed every time I saw turnips (and rutabaga on the table) but cooked right (not that my family didn’t) these vegetables are outstanding AND they are good for you!

Thank the Lord for a quick trip to S Fla, giving my bros a break, Kathy and I took care of my mom and dad for this past week, and our crew held the fort down!
We took mom and dad fresh vegetables, beef and fruit from the farm. Got a chance to prepare all, some fresh good home cooked, nutrient dense food (except for Breyers Vanilla)! One that the Dr said was essential for them (and all of us! IMO) we got to see some good life long friends too!
It’s great to be back home, to sleep in our own bed and see all the family here….

IMO: picking cherry or salad tomatoes are best served fully ripened! I mean ‘red!’ Taste is at its best! Over the top experience!
But picking an 8oz, I pick them when they start turning red, so they won’t split! But they ripen in what seems like hours (but actually it’s day or two) and you get the perfect tomato!
So understand when u buy tomatoes from the stores, they are picked a week if not 7-10 days prior, gassed and they’re shipped 1500 miles to make it to your plates!
Again IMO - ours taste so much better!

So tomato harvest has started! We’ve been getting a couple here and there but yesterday we just harvested 23 #’s and sold everyone!
We’ll pick more today!
Also Patty Pans are ramping up, you gotta try these this season if you haven’t! They’re pretty henomenal!
AND…..I tried a new (old) recipe:
I sliced up cucumbers, onions and tomatoes and then added some Italian dressing…. Simple, Quick, Fresh and Delicious (All from the farm)
To make a great summer salad!
