Urge Congress to enact S. 4906 for family dairy farmers

This page shares many great facts bringing light to the struggles small dairy farms are facing. If you’re a supporter of small farms, give them a like and start sharing their posts! 👏🏻

Many small dairies are remarkably good at finding ways to survive. We diversify. We sell calves, offer raw milk, welcome visitors, and find whatever opportunities we can to fill the gaps. Farmers are some of the most innovative people I know.

Our farm does it too. It’s part of why we’re still here.

What I find pathetic is that we’re forced to do it just to stay in business.

And I keep thinking about the farmers who don’t have those options. Not every dairy has a raw milk market, a location suited to agritourism, or the money and time to start another venture.

Small dairies shouldn’t have to build a second business to keep the first one alive. Producing milk ought to pay enough to give them a fighting chance.
