We will be open Tuesday, September 1 from 5:00-7:00 pm.

We have blackberries, Fall raspberries, and Honeycrisp apples available for u-pick.

We also have home grown onions (varieties are Candy, Patterson, and Red Wing, a red onion) and garlic for sale.

Cash or check only.

Local Honey: $10.00 for a one pound bottle
Blackberries: $5.00 a quart, pick your own.

Hello. I posted the wrong hours earlier this afternoon. My apologies.

Note: There are plenty of blackberries, but they are mostly from 3’ and down, and you have to look for them. Sansa is about gone as well.

Sansa is essentially an early-ripening Gala and was developed in the 1970s by the Morioka Research Station in Japan, in collaboration with researchers in New Zealand, as a straightforward cross between Akane and Gala varieties. Sansa is a red, medium-large apple (smaller this year; there are a lot of apples on the trees) with a deep pink blush on a yellow skin. Its firm flesh is light green with red in color. It is popular for both snacking and applesauce.

Blondee apples have a sweet flavor, with a crisp & juicy white flesh. The smooth yellow skin may have slight russeting at the stem. It is a slow-browning apple when sliced, and has a good refrigerated storage life.

Gala is a cross between Kidd's Orange Red and Golden Delicious. Gala apples have a crisp texture, sweet flavor, and beautiful yellow/orange skin. Bred in New Zealand in the 1930’s, it is a good apple for baking and eating. The SnowSweet Apple tree was released in 2006 by the University of Minnesota. It is a cross between Connell Red (Fireside cv.) and Sharon cultivar. The flavor is interesting; it is a sweet apple with some tartness, but it does have something else going on. It does have good flavor, and is unlike anything else we will have this season.

Sweet Maia is a new variety from the Midwest Apple Improvement Association. They describe the variety as the “perfect snacking apple to kick off your apple season.” It is indeed a sweet, medium-large darker red apple that is a new apple for us, but is already popular.

We are continuing to wait for the blackberries to ripen. We had enough blackberries to pick a week ago, but after they were harvested the remaining berries have been slow to ripen. One factor is the number of berries on the plants; they are loaded.

So, we continue to irrigate and wait for them to ripen.Thank you for your patience.
