The Peony tree is blooming today! 🇺🇸

The perennial gardens this year are thriving and the peonies and bearded irises - are coming in strong and will be a sight when they bloom together. Garden tours are upcoming. There will be lambs to meet and some snacks and drinks under the pergola. Garden Tour Bearded Iris and Peony with rain dates 🌸

If you prefer flowers hands-on with some to take home we are hosting Stems at Sunset: Floral Workshops in Westport until November - with July 21 + August 4 just added! All 100% seasonal local flowers + herbs grown right here in Westport - it makes them extra special!

Open Gate Peafowl 2026 🌿🦚🐓🐣 A Few Facts to Share….⭐️Collected the first eggs yesterday!⭐️

🦚A peahen typically starts laying at two years old. She will lay 2-3 (usually 2) clutches of eggs with roughly 7 eggs in each with a break in between.

⭐️We have India blue & black shoulder & each year the males shed their trains (all those long feathers) once breeding season is over - in August + September within 2 weeks. As a signature, I add at least one of their feathers to my flower arrangements 🦚

🌿I do ship pea hatching eggs - in special foam - sized - just for pea eggs ✅ they are sold out for the season.

🌿The peas are looking forward to fresh blueberries 🫐 soon! - grown in abundance - just a few minutes away!

🌿Our peas hatched in 2019, 2020, and 2023

🌿August the Peacock - is the biggest show off - and has exuded confidence and enthusiasm since he hatched💕

🌿Peas can live for 20+ years - they love gardens! And No, I don’t recommend they live with chickens - house separately due to disease risk, nutrition, space etc.

🌿They lay mid-May until the beginning of August - in MA.

🌿I like very noisy birds, and so do the neighbors 🤣

Lambing Season 2026 is Complete!! 🌿🐑🌿
✨27 F, 18 M✨

Overall a very successful lambing season! I have been waiting awhile to say that. I typically like it to start and end - in a month’s time.

Recap: It started March 21 this year with most lambing those first few weeks - it was very busy when on day 140 of gestation Robin lambed with twins and a few days later it was 3-4 ewes lambing a day - IYKYK how that can be. No hypocalcemia or ketosis. Only a few assists this year.

Yesterday: Elouise the Icelandic - had a beautiful ewe and ram lamb 🥰 This morning - she insists they follow her into the pasture to graze for a few hours. She’s all love that one and has been the sweetest mama.

I have Horned Icelandic - and Icelandic crosses. At this point this year’s lambs are 3 quarter Icelandic. The other part is Finn/horned Dorset.

⭐️Call Duck Eggs: Available to ship May 19 + 25! Options include: Half dozen, one dozen, or two dozen. Call Duck egg season is almost over✨✨ 🙋‍♀️If you’re local - and would like some call ducklings there’s some available!

⭐️If you’re looking for some lovely OLIVE eggs I have Multi-gen back crosses to BCM & Ameraucana. Some of those are chocolate now & some will be chocolate - the next generation. I also have some of my OG multi-gen (olive laying) Fibros paired with BCM - for the first time 🥰. Available by the half or dozen.

⭐️Black Copper Marans do appear in Rainbow Dozen + Colorful Basket offers. The Rainbow has the most variety! I love putting those together.

Dahlia Tubers are all planted! Anyone else growing some? I tend to enjoy the autumnal shades most. They will bloom mid-Aug to mid-Oct. They’ve been a favorite of mine for 15+ years 🥰

They’ll be the focal flowers for our September + October Stems at Sunset: Floral Workshops in Westport on the farm 💐💐💐
