On today’s episode of that tree’s got to go!

We’re putting in a shipping container for storage until our barn/stable combo is complete towards the end of the year.

This tree is 1/2 dead and underneath is a fire ant colony. The other trees that needed to be removed were easily pushed over with a tractor but this guy is being stubborn. This particular tree is near the final home for the container.

Post-heart attacks I really haven’t done a lot of physically demanding labor. Digging and shoveling is definitely pushing me but it feels good and thanks to sandy, loamy soil I was able to get down into the roots in short order.

Next step - chainsaw the roots and pushing over with tractor in a controlled fall.

Container gets delivered tomorrow.
