Terrific opportunity to get out and meet Senator Tom Woods in person if you don’t know him. He’s definitely one of the most pro ag politicians I know of.

There’s lots of mud being flung, I’d recommend talking to him directly instead of listening to a lot of rhetoric floating around.

Whether you’re an OKFB member or not, if you’re a poultry producer, organic crop producer, utilize litter in any way, or just a private property owner in Oklahoma or NW Arkansas, you need to be at this meeting. It’s high time we start using the only unified voice we have before we lose the rights and the way of life we all hold so dearly.

Dinner will be served and we will have some constructive conversation on how we best move forward given the political climate we are dealing with.

The meeting will be at 6pm on Thursday, 5/21 at the Delaware County Fairgrounds in Jay, OK.

FREE EGGS!!!

We have 3 pallets of small white eggs (a total of 2700 dozen) that we are wanting to donate to local organizations that can utilize them. These eggs are from the hens when they first come into production and will be very small. One of the organizations that just took 1800 dozen eggs break them all and freeze the liquid egg so they can stockpile it. These are very fresh eggs, and whomever we donate them to will absolutely be responsible for returning our material. Eggs are located between Siloam Springs and Summers, AR.

So if you know of any food shelters, crisis prevention shelters, kids camps, churches, or whomever else could utilize them in bulk, please get them in touch with Sean @ (918) 316-3084 and we can discuss the details.

Again, to clear up any confusion, these eggs are very fresh, 100% free, and the only issue with them is that they are small (under 40 pounds per case).

Some of you may have seen some comments made earlier today on this page so I’ll go ahead and address them.

Yes, I am a trophy hunter. Yes, I have hunted rhino, elephant, leopard, lion, and a plethora of animals that most folks don’t even know what they are. The rhinoceros seems to be one of the most misunderstood tho so that’s the one I’ll write about.

Simply put, I genuinely and honestly believe that trophy hunting is the single best tool available to conservation. There’s a reason that the most abundant wildlife populations exist where hunting is legal and countries that have outlawed hunting often struggle with low wildlife numbers. Hunting adds financial incentives to the locals that have to justify living with these animals and without that financial incentive wildlife is often poached out of existence. Also, without the money generated by hunting, there is no incentive to keep wildlife on private land and those landowners would instead cull the wildlife and go back to raising cattle, sheep, and goats.

The are more privately owned rhino in South Africa than anywhere else in the world. These animals and their needs are 100% paid for by private individuals, not any government organizations or entities. These gamekeepers, farmers, and outfitters are solely responsible for the veterinarian care, supplemental nutrition, containment fencing, anti poaching, and a host of other expenses that come along with owning rhinos. These expenses cost tens and hundreds of thousands of dollars annually. Currently, their only way to raise the funding it takes to care for these animals is to sell off the occasional old bull for a hunt. We aren’t hunting productive cows or young animals that still have productive lives ahead of them. We are hunting the old bulls that are past their breeding prime. These bulls have already passed on their genetics and keeping them around just jeopardizes young replacement bulls, as well as calves and is simply dangerous. These are not gentle docile animals that are cheap to keep around. Old bulls can, and often do, become very aggressive & dangerous, difficult to contain, and are the only opportunity many of these operations have at recouping any money.

There are no government programs to help pay for rhinoceros upkeep on private land nor are these special interest groups that prey on the naive American public doing anything to help the private owners. Personally, I want to see the horn trade legalized. I believe that’s the ultimate answer to a healthy rhino population. Legalizing the horn trade would basically stop hunting as then the animals would just simply become to valuable to justify hunting them. It would also put tens and hundreds of millions of dollars in the hands of the men and women that take care for these animals. In a few decades we would see a population explosion because they’d finally be worth raising and dedicating resources to.

People will argue “photo tourism”. I personally know two outfitters that has tried, and they made more money on one good hunting safari than they made in a year of photo tourism with a fraction of the required resources. Also, photo tourism has its own downfalls. People want to see huge amounts of wildlife on photo tours so it somewhat limits where you can take folks and there have been documented disasters from photo tourism at river crossings and such during mass migration. I’m not saying they are bad or should be stopped, but it’s not the golden bullet that fixes everything.

So if you want to have an adult conversation and discuss things like adults, let’s do that. If you want to call name and attack my family while acting like a belligerent fool, I will block you.

When you and your children are the ones living around these animals, it’s not the fairy tail world that Disney wants us to think exist……there are no happy endings with Mother Nature.

Ironically, one of the individuals that made the crappy comments that I blocked this morning had to stay a GoFunfMe just to beg for donations from people over a sick cat, but he expects African farmers to shoulder the burden of herds of rhinoceros…….please someone make it make sense!

FARM POSITION OPEN…….

We have a couple farm positions open. Both farms do have housing included. The housing on each farm consist of a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house. One is a double wide and one is a farm house, both recently remodeled. One is between Jay, OK and Maysville, AR and the second farm is between Siloam Springs, AR and Summers, AR. These jobs do require a couple. One farm has been ran by a single individual but it was extremely difficult, it’s not bad at all with a couple, and it’s a cakewalk if there’s three people. We have had couples work for us and also just buddies that can work together. It is a 7 day a week job and it is a W-2 position. Pay will be a weekly salary, housing, and utilities. Again, it is a 7 day a week job. The job can be, and is typically 8 hours daily, depending on your motivation. It consist of egg gathering, picking up floor eggs and dead birds, checking feed lines and waterlines, letting birds outside, putting birds back up, doing paperwork, mowing grass, and general maintenance. Salary will typically be $800-$1200 weekly, potentially more depending on your abilities.

I will put out there, we don’t require previous experience but it does help. The one thing that is an absolute must is the ability to get yourself awake and motivated in the mornings. If you cannot consistently be awake and going by 6am than this is NOT a job for you. Also, because the cost of housing has gotten so high, we have a lot of applicants that want these jobs just for a roof over their heads. While as I do sympathize with that, not everyone can handle a poultry farm job and I highly encourage folks to really ask themselves if that’s what they actually want to do. PLEASE save us both heartache and don’t even apply if you’re only doing it for housing.

Message the page with questions or if you’re interested, a resume is a plus but not a requirement.

In case you missed it the first couple times I said it, THIS IS A 7 DAY A WEEK JOB.

P.S., if you’re scared of chickens, this is definitely NOT a job for you. I never thought that needed said but have found out that it does.

Well, a pretty big deal happened shortly after 4am this morning.

We have made some good friends over the years in our travels & on my hunts, and one of my absolute favorite animals anywhere on this earth is the greater Kudu of Africa, nicknamed the Grey Ghost. I also absolutely love the rare color variations that occasionally crop up in different species, so when I seen a white (leucistic) Kudu breeder bull coming up on a game breeder’s auction I threw a proposal out to a good friend in South Africa and at 4am CST I purchased the bull as well as 7 extremely high end Kudu cows to breed to him. It’ll be a long term investment as we won’t even begin to see white calves until the second generation and they won’t sell until they are 5yr olds, but I’m so excited about this project……because farming in only one hemisphere and on only one continent just doesn’t seem like enough anymore, I wouldn’t want anyone to think I was an amateur! 😂

May have to start a new company, Clark Farms International!!!

Honestly y’all, the amount of faith Sarah has in me at this point is absolutely mind blowing. I can tell her that I think an idea will work and she commits 110%.

Thank you to the greatest wife ever, three sons along with two daughter in laws and a whole pack of other boys that don’t know “woah”, a handful of young ladies that are working their tails off, a whole pack of grandbabies, and a daughter that doesn’t smother me in my sleep!!!

JOB OPENINGS……

I do not currently have any full time positions available with housing. However, I do have crew work available and maybe a driving position as well. This is extremely labor intensive work and involves catching and loading chickens primarily.

Since the first of the year, the crew has averaged working 4.33 days per week. Pay has averaged $228.68 per day and $991 per week. This is currently 1099 work but may be possibly going to W2 work. Currently everyone gets paid weekly but if I have to convert to W2 then pay will go to every two weeks. Work weeks start Monday morning and ends Sunday night. Payday is the following Friday. Sometimes pay is ready before Friday, BUT DO NOT PLAN IN IT.

You would be required to get to my place which is outside of Westville, OK. From there you’d ride in the crew van to the job site. Most of our work is in NE Oklahoma, NW Arkansas, or SW Missouri. But we do sometimes have to go much further. I try to keep work as close to home as possible but we do occasionally go as far west as western KS and as far east as Kentucky, but it’s rare. I don’t pay for drive time but I do everything to possible to make sure the jobs are really good when we have to make drives like that.

Typically we load birds, unload birds, & clean barns. Loading and unloading birds is paid by the bird and when we clean barns it’s by the hour. Most of my loaders can carry a full crate of birds and they get an equal share. If you cannot carry a full crate at a time and only half, we do sometimes adjust that share. If it’s a short week and you need to make more money, I almost always have extra work available.

The working environment in the barns is typically very dusty. If you will wear a mask, which we encourage, we do provide mask. When the daytime highs are below 80°’s we load during the day. When it’s getting over 80°’s we will switch to nights. We do load every single week. If it’s raining, snowing, scorching hot, or freezing cold we will still load birds. We absolutely never shut down for a week. Sunday work is very rare and hardly ever on Saturdays either.

As far as days off, my crew chief is very good about working with people on that, he just needs a heads up. Some days are long days and big money. Some days are just a couple hours and don’t pay near as much. Mondays and Wednesday are typically our biggest days, but we need help on the small days also.

My crew boss is Keegan NoFire, (918) 575-9159. If you have any questions you can reach out to Keegan or me. Keegan handles all of his own hiring and firing in regards to the catch crew.

We do also have a full time driving position open as well. A clean driving record is an absolute must. It is a W-2 position and pays a salary starting at $750/week plus I pay over the road expenses. Pay is very two weeks. A CDL is not required but definitely a bonus. We are hauling live chickens most of the time so dependability is HUGE. Also, basic math is a nice asset as well. We regularly haul poultry to KY, LA, AR, MO, KS, OK, TX, CO, NM, and AZ with occasional trips much further away. I try to run teams for the most part, especially in the heat.

If you think the driving position is something you may be interested in please message the page or text Sean @ (918) 316-3084.
