The past has come to visit. the largest guest ranch in the US from 1943 to 1975, started by FRank S. Snell, Jr. He loved grandiosity. The ranch had 200 guests, 100 employees, 400 horses (klater reduced to 200) 13 full fledged rodeos, 25 horsedrawn carriages from stage coaches to streetcars to buckboards, part iof the horses were matched wagon teams, the rodeo featured a 'real' chariot race with 2

4-ups that was wild. With a little over 500 acres of ranch owned land,most of the riding was done on forest land and other ranches that accessed Pikes Peak riding. Ponies and counselors entertained the kiddos. Sjtagecoaches drove guests to church. 25 cowboys worked at the barn, some barn hands, other's real dyed in the wool cowboys who looked for a change from cow ranches. Famous Harry Vold rodeo stock company supplied bucking horses and bulls. There was nothing like it anywhere at the time, probably never will be anywhere.
