Deacon is ready to be weaned. Enter our superstar nanny, Dali. She goes in. Tomorrow, mom goes out. This may look like a rough introduction, but what is actually happening is a loving lesson in herd dynamics. Dali says, “Don’t crowd my space.” She whispers, “You are safe, but don’t test me.” Proof of her loving leadership is in the calls from the two yearlings who have learned how to horse because of Dali from the pasture across the driveway. Dali is an expert at making the weaning transition safe and less dramatic.
