Meet Strawbarry! 🍓🐓

​Just when you thought we were out of berry names! Say hello to Strawbarry. You can easily spot her out in the yard by her bright red leg band—and as you can probably tell from this picture, she is definitely one of the more vocal girls in the flock!

​She has a lot to say, but she backs it up by putting in the hard work alongside the rest of the crew to keep our Williams Road honor stand stocked with fresh, free-range eggs.

​To help everyone beat the weather, we are adjusting our hours for the next few days:

📆​Saturday: CLOSED (Battening down the hatches to keep our family safe!)

​Yes, we are keeping the food names going! Say hello to Raspbarry. She might not be red like the fruit, but with those beautiful, iridescent black feathers shining in the sun, she is definitely one of the most stunning girls in our flock.

​Just like the rest of the crew, Raspbarry is out here working hard every day to keep the honor box on Williams Road stocked with fresh, free-range eggs for the neighborhood.

​Keeping up with our food-inspired flock names, say hello to Cinnamon! With those beautiful reddish-brown feathers, the name was a pretty easy choice. She is another one of our dedicated girls out in the yard every day, putting in the work to keep the Williams Road farm stand stocked with fresh, free-range eggs. She lays the beautiful green eggs that you see in the cartons.

GRAND OPENING: The New Sow & Grow Farm Stand! 🎊🌱

​The garden is officially in overdrive, and we are so incredibly excited to welcome you to the brand-new Sow & Grow farm stand structure! We have been working hard to build a beautiful, dedicated space to make visiting us a grand new experience for you heading into the weekend.

While the building is brand new, you can count on the exact same friendliness, love, and community support you've come to expect from our family.

​To celebrate our official grand opening this Wednesday morning, our harvest baskets are completely overflowing! Along with our peak harvest of bush beans and pickling cucumbers, we just pulled in a massive haul of fresh peppers. We will have everything from sweet to heat: Bell, Anaheim, Banana, Jalapeño, Cayenne, Serrano, and Habanero! 🌶️

​We will also have freshly picked mini pumpkins hitting the shelves just in time for your fall decorating, plus our unwashed, free-range eggs! 🎃🥚

​A quick note on eggs: They go fast! If you open the cooler and find that the eggs are sold out, don't worry. Just leave your name and phone number on the sign-up sheet located inside the cooler. We will reach out to you directly the moment the girls lay the next fresh batch!

​If you are looking to put together a clean, fresh mid-week meal, grab some autumn cheer, or just want to see the new setup, swing by while it all lasts!

An Update From the Coop! 🥚🌱

​Since day one, the mission of Sow & Grow Homestead has been rooted in the quality of the food we raise. We started this journey with a simple goal: to provide a healthier, cleaner diet of fresh produce, eggs, and baked goods for our own family.

​As we saw the growing need in Wetumpka for quality local food at a fair price, we opened our driveway and our hearts to the community. You are not just customers to us; you are an extension of our homestead family.

​Because we care about the food on your table as much as the food on ours, we are constantly evaluating how we do things. Recently, we realized that our standard chicken feed just didn't fully align with the strict health, quality, and mission goals we have for our future.

​So, we are thrilled to announce a major upgrade: Our flock is officially transitioning to 100% USDA Organic DuMOR chicken feed and 100% USDA Organic treats! 🐓🌾

​Our girls have always been happy and healthy—spending their days free-ranging the yard for bugs and enjoying fresh vegetable scraps straight from the garden. But moving them to a fully organic baseline feed ensures we are producing the absolute best, cleanest eggs possible for you and your family.

​Transparency is incredibly important to us. For now, our free-range eggs are still just $5 a dozen and $3 a half dozen! There will be no price increase added until further notice, and our absolute hope and goal is to continually keep them right at this current price for our community.

Because organic feed and treats do carry a higher cost, there may eventually be a slight adjustment in the future to help offset the upgrade, but we will always work hard to keep our prices as low as possible. Please know that this decision was made entirely to invest in the health of the flock and the quality of the food you bring home.

​If you ever want to see exactly where your food comes from, our door is always open! We would be thrilled to have our friends and neighbors pull in, meet the girls, and see the free-range lifestyle we provide for them.

Meet Cheese! 🧀🐓

​If you caught our introduction of Popcorn, it probably will not surprise you that we have another golden girl named Cheese!

​She was caught mid-stride in this picture, busy exploring the yard and putting in the hard work to keep our Williams Road farm stand stocked with fresh, free-range eggs for the neighborhood. She and Popcorn definitely keep things entertaining around here.
