It sure is feeling like SPRING around here! We’ve had so many babies born in the last few weeks on the farm. Most recently two Longhorn calves less than 24 hours apart. Sunhaven Ace’s Snowtart had a bull calf, and Twisted Bandita had a gorgeous heifer calf that looks JUST like her. The heifer is sired by NDN Scare Crow, and we are so excited to retain her for our program!

This little guy is our first goat born on the farm! He is a Nubian Boer cross buckling and full of energy. His mom is a purebred Nubian and I will be milking her soon. My mind is spinning just thinking about all the things I get to try making. Maybe cheese, caramels & SOAP 🤩.? We’ll see!

We definitely did!
This summer we purchased a Holstein nurse cow, Dairy Queen, that was raising orphan longhorn calves.She gave birth to a bull calf Christmas morning!
Our 4 year old has named him Sprinkles… even though i pushed for Rudolph. Sprinkles is quite fitting for a calf that has a mom named Dairy Queen though.😂

We could not have made it to the place we are today without the help of so many amazing people. One of those people is our fantastic realtor. Needless to say, our farm was not an easy transaction and closing. Luckily, we had the best realtor in our corner. It’s been 2.5 years and she still sends such thoughtful gifts! Thank you Erica Watry-Smedema!

A DIY 8 ft Christmas Wreath for the barn that was once the top ring of a hay feeder! It only took two trips to the tree farm, a wagon, zip ties, wire, and a few hours. Next year I’ll have to make a much larger bow, but for now, this was the largest Hobby Lobby had!
