Meet the Herd Monday! This is Gerald, a volunteer member of the herd. Gerald is a Canadian Goose who was hatched out on the pond on our property by his Canadian Goose parents in 2022. During that summer, something attacked the group, and Gerald ended up with a bun wing. Since he can't fly, he couldn't fly away with his family that fall. After living on his own by the pond for a few months, he made his way up to the pen, got through a fence panels, and made himself at home with the goats. He's lived with the herd since.

The little ducklings are a week and a half old now. They were quite happy with the little pool I gave them yesterday ☺️ They have become quite the explorers as they can walk right through the fence 🤦‍♀️ They have been in all the different pens visiting the other animals and like to go out in the pasture to snack on the grass. Abigail, the goose who's their mama, calls them back if they've been away too long.
